If you accept credit card payments, have you experienced any denied payments lately? If so, what do you do to get paid?:
-
Never had problems with credit cards, only credit customers who drag the chain on paying for months, despite reminders, then go into liquidation.
- We ask for a deposit on almost all work. 50% from small businesses when the job is over $500. 50% from big or trusted businesses over $1000. 75% from builders & developers regardless of the value. 100% from previous slow-payers. No deposit no job priority. If they are a business and don't have any alternative payment method you don't want their work! If you're GOOD they WILL pay!
-
From time to time, this does happen to some of our customers. There is always a sense of embarrassment from the customer as their true intention is to pay for the goods and service. The key is to provide the customer with many different options to pay, such as AMEX, EFT, direct debit, BPay and many other options. Open Communication helps with the customer relationship. Understanding when and how the customer can commit to a payment plan, only builds trust and long term relationships. (Daniel Lara - Financial Controller, Spandex Asia Pacific)
-
The only time we take credit cards is for the deposit and if that fails then we don't do the job. The balance is normally via EFT.
-
Yes, it hapened to us once, never again. Once bitten, twice shy.
(As a publishing practice to protect ourselves from any potential liability, company and individual names that are referred to negatively in any of these comments are removed)

| The Deer Whisperer |
|
The other night I was invited out for a night with the 'girls.' I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, 'I promise!'
Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily.
Around 3 am, a bit loaded, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hallway started up and cuckooed 3 times.
Quickly, realizing my husband would probably wake up, I cuckooed another 9 times. I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution, in order to escape a possible conflict with him.
(Even when totally smashed.... 3 cuckoos plus 9 cuckoos totals = 12 cuckoos MIDNIGHT!)
The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, I told him 'MIDNIGHT'... he didn't seem pissed off in the least.
Whew, I got away with that one! Then he said 'We need a new cuckoo clock.' When I asked him why, he said, 'Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, then said 'oh shit.' Cuckooed 4 more times, cleared its throat, cuckooed another three times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then tripped over the coffee table and farted.
