Do you employ females on the shop floor, if so, do you find they take more care in their work?

Having employed both male and female staff, I reckon there is no difference whether male or female... it is all in the person's attitude. Either they like to do a good job, or they are sloppy. That being said though, our current signwriter (female - 2nd female we have had in the position) is by far the best to date! Genuinely interested in clients' needs, meticulous in the prep and finish of all work. Some previous male employees certainly did an awesome job too!
Yes we do, and we also have males, and there is a big difference. Females do on average take more care, but they can also be too pedantic when a more commercial speed is required. It's the balance between quality and speed that would be perfect!
Yes, I'm a self employed female screen printer and I do take a lot of care with my work. Even when I worked for other companies I took pride in my work and tried to do the best job I could.
Yes - the only male here is the owner!
Over 35 years in business, I have apprenticed a number of females as signwriters and screenprinters, and just like males there are good and bad amongst them. Ours is a presentation business and anybody male or female who doesn't take care with their work cannot be sustained as we can't hide our mistakes as they are there for all to see. The competetive nature of business, as it should be, dictates that only those that perform survive.
I have employed females and males for over 30 years and quite frankly I have found little difference. There are good and bad in both genders. I guess if people think females are better then my recruitment skills need to be improved!
That is a BIG yes! Sign A Rama has employed many female production workers, designers and production managers over the past years and in 90% of the cases these workers took far more care and pride in their work. With that kind of attitude a sign company reduces the numbers of re-do's and material wastage. This is a big plug for more woman on the shop floor.

Absolutely they do. Their attention to detail is much better than males however their all round skill set is not as good.
Yes we have being employing them for over a decade they certainly work as equals and tend to have a better eye for detail. They take better care than the other employees we employ and are more reliable.
We used to but she was more careless than the boys.
Do you really think the "joke" video at the bottom of this is appropriate for nowadays? It is particularly offensive given the survey topic of the week. Far more appropriate for a 1970's "boys industry golf day" than a supposedly professional newsletter.
Yes I think on average they do.
Yes,they notice the smaller things and question accuracy if there is a discrepancy.
Yes, I am the manager and I am female and I only employ females in this department, I do have male installers that I can call on for help, but the finishing quality is not as high as the ladies.
Really, there are good females and bad females that enter the workforce, same as the men. However I have found them to be, on the whole, a little more conscientious about there work.
