LearnHSS TRUSS CONNECTIONS - CLASSIFICATIONS {VIDEO} 

 

When designing truss connections using HSS members, there are 3 main classifications for the types of connections - K Connections (includes N), Y Connections (includes T), and Cross, or X Connections. How these classifications are applied to a connection is based NOT on the physical appearance of the connection, but rather on how the force is transferred through the connection.

NASCC: The Steel Conference is being held from March 26-28, 2014 in Toronto, Ontario. This conference will feature 3 days of technical sessions, and for the fourth year in a row, SE Solutions will be assisting AISC with their Students Connecting with Industry Sessions (www.aisc.org/scis), which includes 2 industry speakers in the morning, and a Direct Connect networking session in the afternoon.

NextSessCOMING NEXT MONTH TO SE UNIVERSITY - SEISMIC DESIGN OF REINFORCED CONCRETE: SPECIAL MOMENT FRAMES  
  

On March 12th, we will be welcoming Jack Moehle, PhD, PE, from UC Berkeley, for an SE University session on "Seismic Design of Reinforced Concrete: Special Moment Frames." 

 

This session will include information from the NEHRP Seismic Design Technical Brief No. 1, and will review the use of Special Moment Frames, along with principles for the design of these frames. Analysis and design guidance will be provided, as well as information about detailing and constructability issues. 

 

Handouts and registration emails for this session will be sent to SE University companies on Friday, March 7th.

Massachusetts*

Minnesota

West Virginia

Montana

 

*These states do not have continuing education requirements.

 

In addition to the states listed above, there are other states that may require renewal based on your initial date of licensure or other rules for that state. Please check your license information to confirm your renewal dates.
