LearnLAPTOP SUGGESTIONS (HARDWARE) FOR BIM

In a previous SE Magazine article (February 2012), we wrote about system requirements for laptops which originated from an SEU BIM Forum session presented by Dave Pluke of BIM Ready. Because having a mobile workplace is becoming more common, we wanted to share information about the system specifications needed to successfully run BIM Programs on a laptop, which would be helpful in making a purchasing decision.

We recently asked Dave if he would be able to update this list of specifications to include the most up-to-date information. Dave begins his recommendations...read more.

InnovateSE UNIVERSITY SESSION ARCHIVES - REVIEW PREVIOUS TOPICS

If you have been curious about previous sessions offered by SE University, we would like to direct you to the Session Archives page of the LearnWithSEU website.

The archives were added to allow people access to information about previously offered sessions, and also to make it easier to find a session based on the topic. If you select the category for a particular session, you will be directed to a page that includes all of the sessions offered that have the same category designation.

We hope that you find the session archives page and the ability to view the list by date or by session category helpful. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Willard at (805) 482-8436, or by email.

ExcelSTATES WITH DECEMBER 31ST LICENSE RENEWALS

As we head towards the end of 2012, there are a number of states with license renewals due on December 31st.

In the following states, ALL engineers must renew their licenses by December 31st:

Alabama                    North Carolina*            Mississippi
Washington                North Dakota

In the states below, December 31st is the renewal date, but some engineers' licenses expire in odd years, and so will not renew until the end of 2013:

Arkansas                    Nebraska                    Iowa
New Mexico                Missouri

To determine if your license is expiring this year, please visit our Continuing Education Requirements by State page, where you can click on states in which you are licensed to see the license renewal date, as well as the continuing education requirements for that state. If you would like a complete summary of all 50 states, a PDF file is available for download below the map. This option can also be selected if you are viewing the page from a mobile device.

We hope that you find this information helpful. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Willard.

* North Carolina approves providers for continuing education, and SE University has gone through the process to become an approved provider.
