ROCKFORD, IL - A new Contemporary Perennial Garden was established last year at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden. 4,000 plants consisting of 40 species of grasses, sedges and perennials covering 14,000 square feet were planted by volunteers. It will take three years for this garden to establish itself enough to choke out weeds and need minimal maintenance. In the meantime, a volunteer weeding effort is planned for Saturday, July 9th from 9am - 12pm.
