Google Cultural Institute Partnership with Klehm
Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden brings the beauty of Klehm online through the Google Cultural Institute.

Rockford, IL January 21, 2016 -  Starting today, the Klehm grounds can be viewed online by people around the world due to a new partnership between the Google Cultural Institute and Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden.
Thanks to this new virtual exhibition, users will be able to see all the individual garden areas through Street View technology and many other individually labeled plant photos at the museum in just a few clicks at https://www.google.com/culturalinstitute/collection/klehm-arboretum-botanic-garden.  Additional labeled plant photos will be added as the seasons progress.

Virtual Tour with Street View
Using the Street View feature, people can move around the Arboretum and gardens virtually, selecting areas that interest them and clicking to discover more or diving into the high resolution images, where available. A specially designed Street View 'trolley' took 360 degree images of the grounds which were then stitched together, enabling smooth navigation of the walking path within  Klehm including special interest areas and an Interpretive Tour of the grounds. The Interpretive Tour is a 23 post walking tour that highlights some of the main interests at Klehm. The post tour shows the seldom seen American Chestnut Tree along with beautiful Magnolias in spring and a colorful Rhododendron and Azalea Dell.

Dan Riggs, Executive Director said
"Klehm is excited to part of the worldwide launch of the Google Cultural Institute and be able to share the beauty of the gardens and interesting arboretum specimens.  The world can now enjoy Rockford's living museum."
