ROCKFORD, IL - One of Rockford's traditional outdoor fine art shows,
Art on the Lawn, (AOTL) has a new location at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden. The 2015 show will take place on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 11am-6pm. In addition to viewing and purchasing juried art works, attendees will be able to enjoy Woodsong, Klehm's outdoor concert series, that night as a part of their Art on the Lawn admission.
"We're overjoyed that as an organization we're able to host an event that's been an important part of the art community in Rockford for so many years. Klehm's gardens and the art will complement each other perfectly," says Klehm Arboretum Executive Director Dan Riggs.
Art on the Lawn first took place at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford in 2000, and moved to Rockford University in 2007. Rockford University's Senior Development Officer John McNamara says, "It was our pleasure to host AOTL for many years. The move to Klehm is fitting as the gardens provide a perfect place for the show amidst its gorgeous and unique nature setting. More and more arboretums are combining art shows along with sculpture gardens and the opportunity to grow AOTL within Rockford's own botanical gem is a perfect combination for Klehm and our community."
