Klehm Receives Challenge Grant
Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden has been awarded a matching grant of $10,000 by the Carroll H. Starr Endowment Challenge Grant of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois
According to Klehm Executive Director Daniel Riggs, the grant will be used to build the Bur Oak Endowment Fund dedicated to the operating support for the Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden.
"Our agency strives to maintain a living museum for the enjoyment, education and inspiration of all people. Klehm Arboretum hosts a large collection of labeled tree and shrub varieties as well as seasonal garden displays.
Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden was founded in 1985 and has served the Rockford region as a leader and clearing house for gardening and botanical information and ideas. Stephanie Jacobs is President of the Board of Directors.
The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois is the area's largest provider of grants and scholarships. Its mission is to attract, grow, and preserve an endowment for the needs of the people of Northern Illinois.
