Guided Bird Walk

9am-12pm

Join the Sinnissippi Audubon Society for a guided bird hike through the arboretum. Their members will use sight and sounds to identify the many birds at Klehm. Everyone is invited to participate. No registration required. If 9 am is too early, late comers are welcome to catch up with the group.

 

The walk is included with general admission. FREE to Klehm members and Audubon Society members.

Volunteer Recognition Dinner

5:30pm - 7:30pm

Klehm invites all volunteers to celebrate another successful gardening season with a dinner, awards and a short program to honor their efforts. The support and contributions made by volunteers make Klehm a success.  FREE for all Klehm volunteers. Invitations have been sent.

Season Extending Garden Techniques

Few gardeners are content with the length of their growing season. In the far North, there's barely enough time to ripen tomatoes or melons. In the South, drought and intense heat limit gardening activity to the spring and fall months.

 

The good news is that by using a few simple season-extending techniques and plant-protection devices, you can shield your plants from extremes of weather, and stretch your gardening season by two, three or even six months.
