ABC Women's Council 11/19: 220 Riverside Project

 Join the Women's Council for lunch on November 19 for an opportunity to learn more about an exciting project happening in Riverside. Hallmark Partners President Alex Coley will discuss "220 Riverside" the seven-story, mixed-use development under construction in Jacksonville's historic Brooklyn district. Foley will be joined by Jen Jones, the Executive Director of Unity Plaza, a unique, life-enriching park planned as the heart of 220 Riverside.
This visionary retail, residential and park project is expected to spur economic growth and serve as a catalyst for future redevelopment. Additionally, the project will expand housing and entertainment venues of Riverside and Avondale into the downtown core. Meet OSHA's New GHS/HAZCOM Training Deadline

 Are you prepared for OSHA's December 1 deadline to train your employees on the new "Safety Data Sheets" (SDS)?
In 2012, OSHA enacted its Global Harmonization Standard (GHS) which included a number of significant changes to its Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom 2012). These changes affect all employers utilizing hazardous chemicals at their worksites. One of the major changes of the GHS requires employers to train their employees on the new "Safety Data Sheets" (SDS) by December 1, 2013.
ABC is offering a free webinar on Monday, Nov. 18 to help you comply. Fisher & Phillips Partner and former head of OSHA, Edwin G. Foulke, Jr., will present a webinar that will help prepare employers to meet their obligations under GHS and HazCom 2012. This webinar will provide a detailed explanation of OSHA's changes to the Hazard Communication Standard and discuss steps that your organization can take to meet your obligations under this new standard. Big Bang Clays Event Set for Dec. 12

 Our 2013 Sporting Clays event is a good time. Plan to enjoy a cool morning in the woods, the camaraderie of ABC members and a fun time moving with your team of four through various stations shooting at clay targets. First-timers will have as much fun as more experienced marksmen...we'll provide everything but a gun. Give it a try!
The event will take place at W.W. Sporting Clays on December 12, and your four-person team will enjoy 100 rounds, lunch, station sponsorship and a shot at bragging rights for the year. Registration and sponsorship details are here.

ABC, AIA Members: Decorate Holiday Windows

 Join AIA and ABC, in partnership with Downtown Vision Inc., in creating a festive holiday environment downtown through the creation of unique holiday window displays.
Gather your coworkers, colleagues and friends and form a team to design and assemble a holiday window for the community to enjoy. Windows will be unveiled at the December 4th Artwalk and compete for the People's Choice Award. Details and registration form here.
Be creative with your designs, themes and materials. Windows will be assigned on a first come-first pick basis and you will be given dimensions and additional information about accessing the space at that time.
