CampfireTALK: Febuary 14th, 2014
WORKING TOGETHER  ... in Shaping The Future!
For as long as I can remember, the Body of Christ has been divided, in various denominations, in beliefs and different church groups, each holding onto their own vision and purpose, but seldom in working together as "one unit".   When we choose to work separately, you will find that our strength and our ability to affect "change" in our area is greatly weakened and reduced.  We each take off in our own direction, and some make it ... some don't.  And in all of this, we lose the benefit of strength and power in our numbers.  [Lev 26:3-12]

Each church and ministry has a purpose, and I believe serves a specific need in our community.  But when we all come together as a "family", and also work together towards Jesus' purpose in reaching the lost, we become a formidable force against the enemy, and the entire region around us begins to take upon itself a new form!

Lives are changed, and our communities begin to develop strong principles and standards of character.  People are taken off the streets as brother begins to help brother, and sisters become sisters again.  The gospel begins to permeate the school systems, the local city and government, and the people begin to once again hunger for GOD and HIS blessing begins to flow upon us all.

We have a vision, a dream, a goal, to come together, and again work as one "family", like in the days of Acts and the Apostles.  The power and strength of the Holy Spirit will not be seen in any great form unless those who have been entrusted with this message of the gospel of Jesus Christ begin to come together and pray, and help each other, in unity of the faith, sharing their knowledge, their strengths, and the teachings that they have been entrusted with.  And together we will grow!

We were given a command!  It is not a good idea, or a neat thought, but before HE left, Jesus gave us a "command" to "preach the gospel to all the world"!  We are responsible for delivering the life-giving message of the gospel of Jesus, to our communities, to the people we work with, to our schools, and to the World!  We think it's time to get busy about "the Father's business" ...

WORD CHURCH Ministries
Word Church banner - the directors WORD CHURCH is a church, a ministry, and a fellowship, even an outreach, where like in the days of the Apostles and Acts, the people joined together!

Our vision and our goal, is to bring churches together in the unity of the faith, to help them to begin to bring together the gifts and talents of each separate church, and to share those gifts and talents with each other, that we may be better and more effective in teaching and training the Body of Christ, for the word of the ministry, to tell the World about Jesus!    .... DEVOTION
THE CHALLENGE   (continued)
Pastor Rich, you started talking last week about making a change, and about "getting it together" for my family and for their future ...

But "HOW" can we do this?

This week we are going to put forth some principles for success that we already know to do, but we seldom choose to do them!  They work  ...
but you have to "work them"!
They haven't changed, and they are not cancelled, or now void.
THEY STILL WORK!

GOD said in His Word, that "I the Lord, DO NOT CHANGE!"  GOD does not change.  HE is the very same today, and forever!  What does that mean to you and me, in light of today's topic?  It means that whatever GOD said ... about success, about prosperity, about living our lives before HIM ... applies to us, here, today ... just like it did when HE first said it!  So, let's look at some of these things!

In Jeremiah, GOD tells us HIS vision and HIS plan, for us, in that HE has been of this attitude from the beginning, and remembering that HE does not change, HE still thinks this way ... today:

"For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
[Jeremiah 29:11 - NASB]

Now, notice that GOD used the word "welfare" in that scripture.  Now I need to explain that because when we here in America hear the word "welfare", we think of food stamps, and barely squeezing out a living, with just enough to barely survive!  It's a horrible picture!  But the dictionary's very first definition of the word "welfare" says:

wel-fare
1.  a.  Health, happiness, and good fortune; well-being
     b.  Prosperity

It is not until you get to the 3rd definition do you get the US government version of "welfare" and it's definition.  But GOD was not talking about the U.S. government's version of welfare, but HIS version!  And people, I tell you that GOD's version of welfare is abundance of health and "wholeness" (nothing missing, nothing broken), an abundance of happiness and joy and good fortune!  It is filled with prosperity, more than you can handle!  And this is not my definition, but an everyday run-of-the-mill dictionary off-the-shelf!

Webster's Dictionary puts it this way:

1.  "the state of doing well, especially in respect to happiness, and to prosperity."

So, understand this:

GOD wants you ...
1.  healthy - physically healthy and whole, nothing missing, nothing broken, healed, free of disease and sickness, of aching bones and muscles, and such ... "healthy"
2.  happy - emotionally, mentally and in your soul ... "happy" and at peace, with yourself, with others ... "happy"
3.  prosperous - wealthy and in full abundance, in full sufficiency of provision, not just spiritually, but financially ... "prosperous"

It is very important that you understand fully, that GOD does not want you "just making ends meet".  THAT is absolutely NOT at all HIS best for you!  In fact, to wish and to pray for "just enough" is very selfish ... on YOUR part!  You see, if you only ask GOD for "just enough", then you do not have an abundance, and therefore will have none left over, to give, to share, to bless and to sow ... into the lives of others!

So, just making it is ... selfishness, laziness and falling short, of GOD's very best ... for you!  Oh, I know this is not comfortable to think about, but its' the truth!  If you are born-again, then you are a member of the Royal Family, of GOD's Family!  And "that" puts you in a state of absolutely "being" over-in-abundance .. in everything from health and healing to happiness to financial prosperity!  That covers it all ... it's called "The Blessing"!  (see Deuteronomy 29)

So, for this week, I want you to meditate this ...
Think about the fact that GOD ... wants ... YOU ... to be totally and completely healthy, abundantly happy, and overwhelmingly prosperous!  And in so being, you will "prove the Word of GOD" in your lives.  You cannot be a blessing, a source, a provider of blessings and goodness ... if you have ... nothing.

So, our goal is to get "in-line" with GOD's plan for us!
Think about these things, pray about them, and "settle" them in your heart, because next week we are going to begin to practice this, and to "DO" what we need to do, to walk in these promises!

THIS MONTH - I want you to remember:

"This is YOUR day ... YOU control it, how it goes, how you deal with the obstacles that come, and how you finish it!   Master it!  And don't let the day, or the little bumps that come with it determine how "YOUR DAY" is going to be.
  This is "YOUR" day!
Master it!  Conquer it!  MAKE IT ... what your Father wants it to be!

Make me proud!
