WORKING TOGETHER ... in Shaping The Future!
|
For as long as I can remember, the Body of Christ has been divided, in various denominations, in beliefs and different church groups, each holding onto their own vision and purpose, but seldom in working together as "one unit". When we choose to work separately, you will find that our strength and our ability to affect "change" in our area is greatly weakened and reduced. We each take off in our own direction, and some make it ... some don't. And in all of this, we lose the benefit of strength and power in our numbers. [Lev 26:3-12]
Each church and ministry has a purpose, and I believe serves a specific need in our community. But when we all come together as a "family", and also work together towards Jesus' purpose in reaching the lost, we become a formidable force against the enemy, and the entire region around us begins to take upon itself a new form!
Lives are changed, and our communities begin to develop strong principles and standards of character. People are taken off the streets as brother begins to help brother, and sisters become sisters again. The gospel begins to permeate the school systems, the local city and government, and the people begin to once again hunger for GOD and HIS blessing begins to flow upon us all.
We have a vision, a dream, a goal, to come together, and again work as one "family", like in the days of Acts and the Apostles. The power and strength of the Holy Spirit will not be seen in any great form unless those who have been entrusted with this message of the gospel of Jesus Christ begin to come together and pray, and help each other, in unity of the faith, sharing their knowledge, their strengths, and the teachings that they have been entrusted with. And together we will grow!
We were given a command! It is not a good idea, or a neat thought, but before HE left, Jesus gave us a "command" to "preach the gospel to all the world"! We are responsible for delivering the life-giving message of the gospel of Jesus, to our communities, to the people we work with, to our schools, and to the World! We think it's time to get busy about "the Father's business" ...

WORD CHURCH is a church, a ministry, and a fellowship, even an outreach, where like in the days of the Apostles and Acts, the people joined together! Our vision and our goal, is to bring churches together in the unity of the faith, to help them to begin to bring together the gifts and talents of each separate church, and to share those gifts and talents with each other, that we may be better and more effective in teaching and training the Body of Christ, for the word of the ministry, to tell the World about Jesus! .... Well, we've started a new year and before you know it, we are already through the 1st month! That's right! It's February already, and we are in to the 2nd month of the year, making us almost halfway through the 1st quarter of 2014. Folks, I am telling you, the year will go by if you don't watch it closely! Plan for it! Plot your year for success today! As for me, I've been writing. I just finished a book which tells the story of Adam and Eve, in the Garden. In the Bible, we have only 2 chapters to tell the entire story. So, with my knowledge of the Word of God, and the scriptures that I am familiar with, keeping all within the harmony of the faith teachings of the Bible, I ... told the story! I'm excited about this book because it opens up a new chapter in a few more like it that are to follow. These will be books and materials that pastors, churches and ministries can use to educate and train up folks on the stories of the Bible. I have a friend, who wishes to remain nameless on this matter, who over the years has done quite well for himself, financially. He has invested and helped several companies to become more profitable, and now he is reaping a reward as well! And well he should! My point though, is that this guy started young. He was always a mover and a shaker, with ambition, kindness and a smile on his face. He always thought positive and looked on the "up side" all the time. I will always remember this about him. Any, he is now doing well and traveling the world, from country to country, enjoying the benefits of his labors. I would ask that you keep his wife in your prayers, as she is battling something that as a general rule usually doesn't have a good outcome. He is enjoying this time, with her, and doing the things they've wanted to do! BUT GOD ... I always say. We are praying for them, and ask that you do too! (Sorry, but I cannot reveal more) The reason for my mentioning my friend was that you would consider your life, and what YOU are doing. Are you still working in that same old job, punching the clock to make the bills and keep food on the table? Have you ever considered that it might not be working for you? I mean, if you cut out the fat ... you know, the things you don't really need to have, and sold the house, and ventured out into some dream or vision that you've always wanted to do ... what if you made it? What if ... what if "that" was the one thing that you were meant to do here in the Earth, and you've been missing it ... because you bought into the deal you were sold years ago. You know the deal? Work at this job, pay the bills, barely get buy. Your wife works too! Then, when it's all said and done, you might just barely have enough to coast through to the day you die. Seriously? Is that all you want from life? "Well, uh .... " Yeah, that's what I thought. You never gave it any thought! Well, neither did I ... and now, what have I got to show for it? Why didn't I "go for it" when I had the chance ... years ago? And why don't you? So, this week I want you (and your spouse) to spend some time and discuss your lives. Are you really "living the dream"? And don't come back with that ... "well, we can't ..." because YOU CAN! The only person who can change where - you - are now ... is YOU. Think about it! A few days ago, I posted on my Facebook page, the following: "This is YOUR day ... YOU control it, how it goes, how you deal with the obstacles that come, and how you finish it! Master it! And don't let the day, or the little bumps that come with it determine how "YOUR DAY" is going to be. This is "YOUR" day!" And to that I would like to add, "THIS is the day that the LORD hath made ... we need to rejoice and be glad in it!" Take that principle, and the principles in the sentence above, and apply them to this "YEAR"! THIS - IS - THE - YEAR ... that the Lord hath made! You only have to be concerned about THIS YEAR. The others will come, but THIS YEAR ... this year ... MAKE THE CHANGE! Make me proud! -pastor rich-
