Recently I received an email from a dear friend of mine in Kenya, on the continent of Africa. He is a pastor, and we often converse together across the world, encouraging one another and challenging one another.
Today, though, when I read a letter he sent to me, I considered his concerns and the problems he faced. The Spirit of GOD began to speak through me to him, and to me, in a letter the follows. I was so moved by it that I share it with you, in hopes that it too will change your lives, like it is changing my life, and the life of my dear friend, pastor Isaac.
Pastor Isaac:
You cannot know how I feel for what you are going through, for I have been there, and frankly am there now. As difficult as it might be, in the flesh, our answer, our key, our deliverance, will only come through prayer - prayer and intercession.
The strength and deliverance power of your ministry is directly proportionate to the power of your Intercessory Group in your ministry. If you do not have one, I think it's time to start one. And, whether you feel yourself qualified or not, I think YOU should lead it off ... at least for the beginning stages. It will help them to "get the vision", and it will feed your faith.
I have watched you, my friend, from a distance. You are persistent, consistent, and determined. I'm sure you battle with your own demons, as do we all, but if you will "press-in" to the presence of GOD, and see to it that your "building" where you meet is bathed ... literally "soaked" in the presence of the Holy Spirit of GOD, the finances will come! The people will come! Healings will take place! And your church WILL grow like never before.
This is so clear to me, and yet so often men like you, and like me, we get so busy with the things of the ministry that we forget the simple things, the former things, the things that the Bible calls our "first love". And all the while, Jesus is still just sitting there, waiting for some time with you, and with me.
I encourage you, and I speak to me at this time as well, do these things:
1. GET INTO THE WORD. Listen to preaching on your smartphone. Study your Bible. Read spiritual books. Make sure that your spirit man is "fed" with the living waters of GOD.
2. SPEND TIME IN PRAYER. This is perhaps the most difficult for men. It takes time. We often want to be "out-and-about", doing things ... not down on our knees in prayer. But "this" is the very "key" to our success!
3. WALK WITH GOD. He so earnestly desires time with HIS son, Isaac. Yes, "you" are the son of GOD. GOD has many sons! And our big brother is the KING of kings and the LORD of lords, JESUS! You can't ask for a better family lineage.
4. SPEAK YOUR END-RESULTS. You must "speak" into the atmosphere around you, the creative power of GOD, creating with those same words, the "future" that you desire.
I went on in the message to my friend, promising to challenge him if he would challenge "me" as well! We will do this ... together!
What are you facing today in your life, that seems insurmountable and impossible to overcome. Do you have financial issues, or maybe health issues that have no be met ... not yet, anyway? Well I have a message for you!
I have built many a campfire, and often as the case may be when we are in a hurry, you end up arriving and your wood is wet! You heard me right, it rained on the way and your firewood is wet. What do you do?
I have discovered with campfires that if you will get the fire going, and make it really "HOT", then just about any wood will burn! That's right! The reason is that a really "hot" fire is the perfect conditions for fire. The entire area, the ground, and all that surrounds it, is so hot that
anything that is placed in that environment will very shortly be raised to the same temperature of the fire's environment. We call this the "flash point". Once that wood reaches the flash point temperature, it will literally burst into flames! Then, you can put more wood in. You will literally "see" with your eyes, steam coming forth, as the moisture and the water that the wood has absorbed are literally driven out of the wood! As the wood continues to rise in temperature, the moisture increases to escape and suddenly - the wood bursts into flames! It is an awesome thing to watch!
And we are much the same, when it comes to GOD. All we have to do is to pray, and get before GOD ... in HIS presence. And as we do, our spirit begins to become soaked ... literally drenched, with the presence and the awesome power of GOD! And if we continue in that, regularly, we begin to affect the environment around us! IT TOO will begin to become "soaked" with HIS presence! And the hotter that fire gets (your spirit with GOD's presence) the more it begins to spread! It will affect literally "everything" around you! Your finances, your health, your relationships - EVERYTHING! Sin, sickness, financial problems, and anything short of THE BLESSING will just have to move away from you! It cannot remain in HIS presence!
The Challenge I want you to join me ... and Isaac Mwagi, as we challenge one another in faith, to "press-in" to get "close" to GOD, to pray, and to "study" HIS Word, to literally be "on-fire" ...
