Welcome to  CampfireTALK!

The cooler weather is now approaching and changing the world we know from warm to cooler, from sunny to cloudy, sometimes overcast ... its the change of the seasons and as we all know ... seasons change.

In the same way, the circumstances of life change.  Your family, your church members (some move on), and friends may move away.  People change.  The weather changes.  Life changes!  And as such, we need to be aware that with these, we too must sometimes make changes.

GOD once told me, "Life is all about change.  If life isn't changing, then it - is - dead!"  Wow!  That rocked my world in a way you'll never know!

This season, you too will be facing changes.  Some will be well expected, and some will be forecasted.  But some will come with little or no notice.  As you stand, feet planted firmly on "The Rock", (the Word of GOD) you will be solid and unmoveable - stable, and lasting.

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE!
from pastor Rich Allcorn

Well, if you missed last weeks message, how shall we put this ... that was a <lamb's voice> "baa-aad move".  It was called "Silence of the Lambs", and it had important info for all of us to know.  Look it up on our archive site when you get a chance.  (see registration below)

This week we are discussing the part of the Bible which talks about you being "the light of the world".  Yes, I did not quote that wrong ... I - mean - you!

Jesus said that we are to "let our light so shine before men that they known we are the called of GOD".  In other words, YOU are a son (or daughter) of GOD.  When YOU come in the room ... GOD comes into the room!  You see, you carry HIS Presence with you, and wherever you go, GOD goes too!  And while we're on that subject, however you act while you are "there" (wherever you are) they judge all Christians by your actions.

My son and I went camping last weekend.  I was originally scheduled to train chaplains for the Boy Scouts of America, but we had a scheduling problem and had to postpone the training until the Spring, in May.  I was already psyched up for camping so I took my youngest son (still at home with us) and we went camping, for a father-and-son campout.  It was awesome!

One thing, though, that my son noticed.  He said, "Dad, it's like you're different out here!  You are visiting with everybody, and talking about GOD with them, and ... Wow!  You're just different!"

I explained to him that what he was seeing was the pastors anointing coming out in me.  It happens when I am around people, and especially in campground areas and places where I don't really know the people.  GOD does something on the inside of me, and I see people like they are "family".

At one point, we were driving through the Inks Lake State Park, clear on the other side of the park, headed for the camp store.  This was a long way from our campsite area.  While driving through, we saw lots and lots of Girl Scouts.  In amongst one of those groups, one of the mom's jumps up and shouted, waving her hands, and shouted out, "Hey Rich!"

My son said, "Aw Dad!  How do they know you?  We don't even live around here!"  I explained to him that I had stopped and helped that woman and her group ealier to get her car started.  They were trying to jump start it and kept sparking when they would try and connect the cables!  (I found that the jumper cables were connected backwards - a very dangerous situation!)  Anyway, I just stopped and helped them get it wired right and started ...  it didn't take long.  They asked my name, and thanked me.  Obviously, they remembered my Jeep when they saw us by.

I thought about this and wanted to ask you ... Do you live your life before men, so that they "see" that you are called by the name of Jesus?  This is important!  We are to share, uplight, encourage and teach, wherever we go!  How many people even know that you are a Christian?  And of those, how many have learned something from you, your way of life, or your example in life?

We - represent - Jesus!
Remember this ... consider your ways, your actions and your kindness.

Make me proud!
