Someone "Does" Notice! -1%20(tu).JPG)
In my last writing I quoted the attributes of a Scout, listed in the Scout Law. A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, etc. Well, the other day I was with the youth at our sponsor Church, and a Scout came up to me and commented on how much he enjoyed the article.
He then asked me where I got the order for the items of the Scout Law. He said, "I was just wondering because they were out of order." I had to confess to this young man that I had copied them from a "Scout Coin" that I carry with me in my pocket. I didn't want to forget them all, so I just used my coin as it was handy, and that was my way of ensuring that I got it right. I did get it right, but I put it in the wrong order.
So, to be open and forthright, here is the Scout Law:
(the way it should be writtten)
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.
We often think in life that what we do is not really noticed ... that nobody really cares. I hear this phrase all the time. "What does it really matter?" They ask, "Why does it matter? You at least got it close, right?" Well, apparently it "does matter"! To this Scout it mattered enough to mention it! Why? Because it "does" matter!
In the things of faith, when GOD says it should be a certain way, we often, like with the example above, tend to bend it our way. We think that, because we are tolerant and can make allowances, that GOD is the same way? But this could not be further from the truth! GOD is a "just" god, a god of righteousness and of truth! There are no allowances with GOD - it is either right or it is wrong.
That very reason is why Jesus had to come! You see, GOD's character of justice requires that a man who is in sin must "die" for those sins. It is justice! But, GOD didn't want His man to go to Hell, so HE sent Jesus to die in HIS man's place. Jesus died ... for "us", so that we won't have to. If we accept that sacrifice that HE gave, in our place, and repent of our sin, then we can be "Born-again"! We can be a "new creature" in Christ, with the old passing away, and the brand new coming in! Our life will never be the same again!
So, you see ... it does matter! We need to "get it right"!
Make me proud!
