In our calendar, we begin the 2nd quarter of the year, the dawning of Spring time, when all of life begins to sprout and grown, in all of it's green spender! Consider your week, both this and the next, and "plan" for a harvest! Plan for success! Plan ... to be a recipient of "The Blessing"! (of Abraham) As sons and daughters of the Most High GOD, "you" are destined for greatness! A Word from pastor Rich  YOUR LIFE IS NOT OVER!
Did you ever think that just maybe you were "done". That your life is over?
You know, a few years ago I had a heart attack, and really wondered if my life was over. But I held on to my faith, confessed my belief in GOD totally and completely restore me, and He did!
There were times, not long after that heart attack, that I wondered if maybe I was supposed to die, if maybe I had somehow "changed" my future. I had a very large life insurance policy on me, to provide for my family, should something happen to me. And had I died, they would now be very well off, financially. As it is, after that time, I have been contracting, and those have been few and far between. Not the income I was hoping for at all!
And I would find myself asking, "Was I supposed to die?" Now I know that I changed my future, by standing on the Word of GOD. The stories are too long to tell in this medium, but someday maybe you can hear my testimony. There were "miracles" that took place along the way, prayer, standing on the Word of GOD, and 'work' on the treadmill, with exercise, and with diet change, to make things aright in my life! But now, my heart doctor (Jerry Gilbert), one of the best cardiologists in the business, says "there is no evidence that you ever had a heart attack"! GOD "has" restored me!!
So, what of the finances? What about the blessings that my family "would have enjoyed", had I died? These were the questions that I'd been asking myself ... until now.
GOD placed me here for a reason. The Devil is, and has been, working to try and rob me of any joy and of any blessing that GOD has intended for me, since that time. But my lightening fast mind, just the other day, came to a conclusion that I want to share with you.
"Life is a choice". The simple fact that you remain is a choice. And the act of living is a series of choices, of options and of the results of those actions. So what do I do about my life and my future?
Well, the very first thing I need to do is to get back into the WORD of GOD. Study - study - study ... "feed" my spirit man on the living, life-enriching Word of GOD. It fills your mind with wisdom, with the ability to actually "do something" with your knowledge! It fills your heart with a firm resolve, a confidence, that no one can deny!
Next, I need to pray in the spirit. That's right! You heard me. I need to pray in tongues! THAT opens doors like no other! Because when I pray, my spirit prays, and the Holy Spirit (Who knows 'how' to pray, and what to pray for) directs my prayers to specific needs. Things get done!
So, if you're feeling in a slump, maybe considering yourself a failure, a loser, a ... "chump"? GET INTO THE WORD! Feed your spirit man what it desperately needs to be it's very best! And then "speak"! SPEAK THE BLESSING to all things around you! Let the life-giving power of GOD flow from your lips and you exercise your GOD-given authority to energize your surroundings!

Margarett ParkerMargarett, associate pastor, is also director of foreign missions. She is licensed and ordained, and has earned her BA in Biblical & Theological Studies as well. Pastor Margarett recently traveled to Kenya, on her own, and ministered to hundreds while there! |
