This morning, when my alarm went off I really didn't want to get up. My body said, "Roll over and take a snooze." I did. But then as I began to rest again, my heart inside me began to speak.
I heard the words of Proverbs speaking to me ...
"A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest ... and your poverty will come in like a vagabond, and your need like an armed man."
(Prov 6:10)
That spoke to me clearly! I gently rose so as to not wake my beautiful wife. Usually, we have to race to see who is the first to get up. She is an early riser! But this morning, the WORD of GOD was speaking ... to me, to get up ... earlier!
I was up early, in prayer. Then I made my youngest son's lunch, and began to fix him breakfast. When my wife came in, the things she often has to do in the morning were all taken care of! The fruit of good labor was evident in her smile. This was a blessing to her!
Now, to attend to my day! There were many things that came to roost on my plate for the day, many of which were there, solely to rob me of my joy, of my drive, and of my determination to be a 'success'.
BUT, because I chose to rise early (earlier than usual), and to seek the face of the Lord, my resolve and focus was very clear and sure!
How did your week start, after returning from Spring Break? Did you, like most, whine and complain about having to go back to work, or school? Or were you "thankful" for God's blessings in your life?
What if you didn't have a job? ... or a school to attend? What if you were looking and looking for work, and it proved to be very hard to find? What then? How would you feel about your complaining? ... your whining?
It is very hard for GOD to bless a complainer or a whiner. You have to be a "thankful" son, or daughter. Remember, you are a child of the Most High! "YOU" are a member of the Royal Family!
Act like it!
There are weapons of faith, and supernatural forces, that are all at your disposal, as a covenant son (or daughter) of GOD. You need to learn about these, and put them to good use in your life! "THESE" are what set you apart from everybody else. If you don't walk in them, nobody will ever know you're different!
I heard someone say this past weekend that we are created just a little lower than then angels. In Psalms, King David was asking God, "What is man, that you take thought of him? And the son of man, that you care for him?" But the speaker went on, quoting from a different translation, "... that you created man, just a little lower than the angels." (Psalms 8:4-6)
Well, though you will find this in some translations of the Bible, a look back to the original Hebrew will prove that what King David actually said was, "What is man that thou wouldst create him just a little lower than GOD?"
Scripture:"What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, and You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the work of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beast of the field, the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, whatever passes through the paths of the seas."
(Psalms 8:4-8, NASB)
You see, we are not created as angels, or under angels. We are created (or actually, "re-created", born-again) to be sons (and daughters) of GOD Himself!
(Ps 82, Genesis 2:26-30) and THAT makes us of the God-class of being ... GOD's family! Not angels! The Bible tells us that angels are sent here "for our good". If we're lower than the servants (angels) then how can we be "joint-heirs" with Jesus? Exactly my point!
So, remember this: GOD created you in HIS Family, and as HIS sons and daughters, because He loves you! Jesus died for us to restore us to this. Don't let the devil talk you out of your heritage ... or your blessing!
When you wake in the morning, let all the Earth "know" that a Son, or a Daughter, of the Most High is awake and affecting the Earth with the goodness and the power of Almight GOD! Let GOD "live through you" today!
Make me proud!
