In a church I am participating in for a season, they are discussing things like "commitment", and ways to stand against "injustice", "evil" and similar things of the world ...
I was surprised to hear, when I asked one person, their definition of "injustice". They responded, "when it is
not fair" and upon hearing this, my prophetic "hot-buttons" went off.
I thought to myself, "there it is again ... that 'fairness' thing!" It seems that a spiritual virus has infected our nation, a lie straight from the throne room of Hell (if there even is a throne room there) ...
Folks, life - is - NOT - fair!
We need to learn that. Believing anything else is setting yourself up for a bad fall, a sudden surprise, and failure! Life here in the Earth is not fair. It never has been! But for some reason, lately, everybody seems to be trying to make things "fair". The problem is, you CAN'T. As long as the devil is here, life will NEVER be fair! It is the survival of the fittest, when it comes to nature! Those creatures don't waste their time fussing, "Why do the lions try to eat us! I just don't think that is fair!" They don't have the time? They are "running" ... for their lives!
We should too! Paul said it himself, "I have fought the good fight, I have run the race!" Life in itself is a race, a battle, against evil, against our fleshly desires (those that are wrong anyway), and against "goofballs" running around trying to sell everybody the idea that life is "fair"!
"So, what do I do pastor", you ask?
Let's look at that word, "commitment". I like what one of my favorite teachers says,
Kenneth Copeland, when he teaches on a "firm and quality decision". Now this is, as he would put it, a decision from which there is no turning back, and of which there is no turning to the left or to the right - you are "locked in" and SOLID! I love that!
It is a decision, a "commitment" to a direction, a plan, a goal, that acts like the bit of a bridle in a horses mouth. You put it on and you stay on the trail - no turning one way or the other. Why? Because the rider will "adjust" your bridle reins and that little "bit" in your mouth will make it uncomfortable for you ... UNTIL you decide to get with the program!
In the same way, a "firm and quality decision" is a solid "commitment" to something. In this case, it needs to be a commitment to GOD's Plan for your life! Isn't it time we got onboard and "hooked up" with HIS Program? His Plan?
Isn't it time we admit, "Ok, I've wasted most of my life trying it my way. Now it's time to let you have the reins and let's go for it!"
Make the decision! COMMIT ... make for yourself, a very "firm and quality decision" for GOD'S calling on your life!
Make me proud!
