HELLO FROM PRINCIPAL LOWE
|
Dear Flagstaff Families,
We are returning your children to you today. Thank you so much for entrusting them to our care this year! We have thoroughly enjoyed our time with them, but much like grandparents, we are now handing them back to you!! :) Spend time this summer enjoying your kids. Don't stress over school. A great way to reinforce math skills this summer is to have your child cook with you and measure out ingredients. Also, doubling or halving recipes is a great way to reinforce number sense. Playing board, card, and dice games are another wonderful way to learn strategies and reinforce skills. Please make sure that you encourage your child to read over the summer and that you spend time reading to your child as well. This one daily activity can often have more impact than hiring a tutor! Enjoy your summer and we'll see everyone back here on August 16th! Robin Lowe Executive Principal Flagstaff Academy
|
Dear Flagstaff Families,
Where has this year gone? It seems like yesterday that we welcomed Robin Lowe, our amazing Executive Principal, who feels like she has always been here. We are so grateful for her leadership in guiding our school toward higher levels of academic excellence and professional support for our teaching staff. I also want to thank Terri Long and Katie Gustafson for leading their schools through this time of transition and helping establish such strong instructional leadership as we look to continuously improve. As I begin to look back over the past months, I'm proud of our accomplishments which include the recent refinance of our school bonds, our unmatched safety procedures and record, to our successful SAC Parent Survey, to our outstanding student community of leaders prepared to change the world, every day is an honor to serve at Flagstaff Academy.
I look forward to sharing with you the exciting updates to our campus we're planning for this coming school year, including a new middle school science lab, more implementation of the branding process, and so much more.
Have a wonderful summer. Stay safe and have fun!
Warmly,
Wayne Granger,
Executive Director,
Flagstaff Academy

Dear Elementary School Parents, It seems as though just yesterday I was writing a welcome back to school email and couldn't believe the summer had flown by so quickly. You have entrusted your children with us for this school year and we are giving them back to you bigger and hopefully smarter, and with more problem-solving abilities. I know that I have enjoyed seeing them grow physically and intellectually. I have so much fun welcoming them at the door everyday, seeing them on the playground, and watching them soak up the instruction their teachers give them every school day. I get the opportunity to interact with students at Flagstaff in such a different way than many other Assistant Principals at other Elementary Schools.
My relationships are so positive here. Kids stop by my office to hang out and visit. They stop by for hugs and high fives. They come in for breaks because they might be having a rough day; because they feel safe and comfortable. This is why I love working at Flagstaff. Sometimes my teachers do the same-and I love that too. I have visited many schools throughout my years in education and kids don't approach other principals like they do here. Our school is all about relationships and that is why I love it here!
I will miss you all this summer -- please be safe and have fun.

Thank you all for making my first year as Assistant Principal so amazing. Enjoy your summer and I look forward to seeing you next fall!
Warmly,
Katie Gustafson,
