HELLO FROM EXECUTIVE PRINCIPAL LOWE
|
Dear Parents,
This is our final message for 2015. Wow - how time has flown by this year! It seems like only yesterday that my husband and I arrived in Colorado, excited about our move, but more excited about my new adventure at Flagstaff. I cannot thank each of you enough for welcoming me into the Dragon family and I want to assure you that you really are at a top-notch school!
I came in not really knowing what to expect, but as I walk the classrooms, talk to students, and meet with teachers, I continue to be amazed at the quality of the teaching and learning that is happening in every class from PreKindergarten through 8th grade, each and every day! This school is packed with caring, committed staff members and everyone of them work diligently to make your child feel safe, welcomed, challenged, loved, and respected. We will be tweaking a few things here and there to ensure that we remain at the top educationally because there is always room for improvement. But honestly, I wish my grandchildren lived here in Longmont so they could attend Flagstaff. I cannot think of a better place for them to receive a challenging, well-rounded education from a caring staff!
And speaking of grandchildren, I am looking forward to my time off because my family is coming here to visit us and I am so excited for the grandkids to see snow for the first time! If any of you have suggestions on things to do with children over the holidays, please let me know. Have a wonderful holiday with your families and we'll see you in 2016!! Warmly, Robin Lowe, Executive Principal Flagstaff Academy

PILOT PM KINDERGARTEN IN 2016-2017!
|
We are very excited to announce that we are piloting a PM Kindergarten Class, starting in the 2016-2017 School Year. This initiative will reduce overall class sizes throughout our Kindergarten program, as well as fulfill the increased demand for a PM Kindergarten class.
Depending on the response we receive during the Enrollment Application period, we will be able to make an informed decision on whether there is enough interest to fill an afternoon kindergarten class and reduce class sizes.

MR. BALDWIN PREPARES FOR RETIREMENT

Our beloved band and music teacher, Mr. Timothy Baldwin, has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the 2015-2016 school year, and joining his family out of state. Mr. Baldwin has been a dedicated teacher for an amazing 42 years, and counts his years at Flagstaff Academy as a wonderful and rewarding experience: "Starting our band program has been an honor and I hope the Flagstaff Bands will be a source of musical enrichment and pride for many years to come."
Mr. Baldwin will be assisting us in our search for a highly capable replacement.
