Dear Parents,

As you are preparing for the holiday break, please remember that this can be a stressful time, not only for you (after all, you're trying to make everything perfect for everyone!), but also for your kids. Oftentimes missing routines and having unrealistic expectations of the holidays can create moodiness in children and frustration for parents.

To help with these concerns, try to keep to normal bedtimes and/or routines as much as possible.  Also, talk to your child about what to expect during this time of year and what they think it should be. Sometimes kids fantasize about what it should be and don't understand that nothing is ever perfect. They feel let down, which can affect their moods and your household. Having those conversations gives you the opportunity to talk through those expectations and model how to reconcile fantasies with realities.

If there is anything we can assist you with, please don't hesitate to contact us. After all, we are here for you.

Take care,

Robin Lowe

We are very excited to announce that we are piloting a PM Kindergarten Class, starting in the 2016-2017 School Year. This initiative will reduce overall class sizes throughout our Kindergarten program, as well as fulfill the increased demand for a PM Kindergarten class.

To enroll your child in Kindergarten, we encourage you to come to the in-person/onsite Open Enrollment Kickoff event on Saturday, December 5 from 10:00-11:00AM, or online starting at 11:00AM.

If you are a current pre-kindergarten parent, you MUST apply for Kindergarten enrollment. As a current Flagstaff family, your application will be given priority preference.

Depending on the response we receive during the Enrollment Application period, we will be able to make an informed decision on whether there is enough interest to fill an afternoon kindergarten class and reduce class sizes.

If you have any questions, please contact Sheila Strukel, Registrar at or 720-864-9090.

The 2016-2017 Intent to Return forms for CURRENTLY enrolled Flagstaff families will be distributed in mid-January 2016. Look for the email!

If you have any questions, please contact Sheila Strukel, Registrar, at

Thank you!

We'd like to welcome Joe "Coach" Bellis, our new Elementary School PE Teacher. Coach Bellis has been working as a student teacher in Middle School History with Mr. Debenport. We're thrilled he will be taking over the PE reins in January!

Coach Bellis has taught in Greeley-Evans and Weld Districts. Coach Joe Bellis and his wife Jessica are both Colorado natives who grew up in Lafayette and are the parents of a wonderful nine year old daughter. Mr. Bellis graduated from the University of Northern Colorado where he studied History and Education and is super excited to join the Flagstaff Academy Elementary team. When he is not at school, Coach Bellis enjoys spending as much time with his family as possible and working on his model railroad.

We'd like to extend a Dragon thank you to Coach Fidelak, who has been filling in for us in PE this fall!
Welcome Coach Bellis!
