The Flagstaff Academy Board of Directors voted to establish an Administrator Hiring Committee (AHC) at its meeting on Oct.14th, 2014. The AHC is tasked with running a recruiting process for a new Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and recommending candidates to be approved and hired by the Board of Directors. Board President Neal Enssle will serve as the AHC chair, and Board Secretary Angela Groeninger will serve as the Board liaison.
The Board encourages Flagstaff parents, teachers, administrators, staff, and community members to volunteer to serve on the AHC and help select our school's next academic leader!
The AHC will be seeking an inspiring academic leader and communicator with substantial educational experience in charter, public, or private school settings. Reporting to the Executive Director, the CAO is responsible for development, alignment, and academic excellence of K-8 instructional programs. The CAO supervises and supports the Assistant Principals, and oversees curriculum. The CAO provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement initiatives overseeing professional development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of attaining exemplary academic results.
We need your help, so please consider volunteering! We greatly appreciate all the hard work put in by last year's committee, and this year we plan to take full advantage of the processes, procedures, and lessons learned by that group of volunteers. The committee plans to meet as a group after school or on weeknights once or twice each month. Much of the work of the AHC can and will be conducted by email or phone. We expect to have help and active participation from the Administration, and we are strongly considering engaging a recruiter to hopefully eliminate much of the meeting time and to make this effort as efficient as possible.
AHC members will be approved by the Board. Flagstaff parents, staff, and community members with applicable expertise such as human resources, education, organizational leadership, and supervision are preferred, but not required -- the most important qualification is a passion to serve our school.
Applications are available on the school's website and are due by 8 p.m. Sunday, November 2nd. The Board plans to approve AHC members at its November 4th meeting. Please email any questions and all completed applications to: [email protected].
