Call for Agenda Topics

The first quarterly Policy Collaborative Action Network call is approaching and we'd like to hear from you on agenda topics. Want to know more about what others are doing to meet their local officials? Want to share what you are doing in your community? We want to hear from you! Please submit your thoughts, ideas and concerns before April 10, by emailing [email protected]. Our call will take place on April 25, 2017 and we will send out an agenda before the call. We look forward to your participation!
Southern SAWG Hosts Regional
Leaders Gathering

Taking advantage of the convergence of both the Southern SAWG conference and the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition Meeting in Kentucky, Southern SAWG hosted a group of southern leaders from regional and state-wide sustainable agriculture organizations on January 25-26, 2017. Participants considered the focus and collective capacity of the various organizations assembled, discussed the critical importance and power of the South in federal agriculture policy, learned about building power as organizations and networks, and addressed future opportunities to build relationships and collaborate more effectively. Commitments coming out of the meeting included the further development of a peer network of key decision makers for southern sustainable ag organizations and a focused conversation on how to better coordinate/align major sustainable ag conferences in the South to build power among our movement.

Twenty-seven sustainable ag leaders representing 22 organizations that work in the South met to take steps toward creating a network of southern sustainable agriculture leaders.

We are trying to identify all of the Southern SAWG constituent organizations working on food and farm policy in this asset map. Help us locate and include more organizations by submitting your info to [email protected]
We Have a Winner!

Congratulations to Angelina Harrison. Her name was randomly drawn from the evaluation submissions. Angelina will receive a general registration to the 2018 Practical Tools and Solutions to Sustaining Family Farms conference in Chattanooga. Thanks so much to everyone who participated in the conference evaluation. We really do value your feedback.
