Food Hub Publications
Two new publications came out recently that are must-reads for anyone involved in food hubs.
From the USDA, Running a Food Hub: Lessons Learned from the Field, includes business best practices and in-depth profiles of food hub operations. Visit link for summary and access to an electronic version.
The National Good Food Network Food Hub Collaboration released Counting Values: Food Hub Financial Benchmarking Study, which draws on financial and operational data from 48 of the more than 300 regional food hubs in the nation. The report marks a significant advancement in the business of moving local food into high-volume sales channels and provides comparative data, or benchmarks, that food hub managers can use to analyze and adjust operations.
