Greetings!
Some Changes & a Bit of History for New MexiCann:
To take some of the pressure off of Patients trying to place Advance Orders, we are now announcing available Medicine late Friday afternoon instead of Sunday afternoon. The online order form and the order line phone announcement will now change on Friday so that you can have the entire weekend to place orders rather than doing the Sunday scramble. Eli & Jaylene are taking care of this task and you can count on them to be timely. The Newsletter though may not get to you until a bit later. It needs to wait for me to write my column and I am sometimes too slammed to get it done on Friday. Still, the website and phone lines will be set to go - so no need to wait for me.
You will also notice some changes at the office layout. Susan is moving into my office, I am moving into the small side office and Eli will be sitting at Susan's old desk. As you may know, in March of 2009, Susan and I decided to form a corporation to apply for a license as a Nonprofit Producer for the NM Medical Cannabis Program. We succeeded in that goal and received the License for New MexiCann on Nov. 9 2009. We immediately went to work to put the business together. My immediate focus was the build out a cultivation facility along with Carlos & Jennifer who became New MexiCann's growers. Susan, with Jaylene's help, took on the organization of the office including accounting, patient registrations, ordering, phone and computer systems. This was all a new world for us. Although Susan and I had worked together for years in other businesses, we had no experience with a Cannabis business or Patient health care. Those were very very long hard days, weeks and months. We often put in 12 to 16 hours days and seven day weeks. We could not afford to hire much staff so we all just committed to the project by doing most of the work ourselves.
As the business grew - increased plant count, increased Patient registrations, we expanded with more staff. I was able to focus more on the overall guidance and direction for New MexiCann and Jaylene became office manager supervising several office sales associates. Susan focused on her role as Administrative director which included her direct supervision of our office manager and sales staff and meeting with Patients for order processing and guidance. This left little time for the long hours needed to handle all the bookkeeping, tax & regulatory filings and money management that New MexiCann needed.
Now we are finally able to make life a bit easier and focused for all of us at the office. Carlos & Jennifer have succeeded in finding, training and keeping some great support staff at the grow. With Eli coming on board at the office, Susan can now focus full time on her key role as my partner in New MexiCann. She will continue to be our Administrative Director but will focus more on Finance and Compliance. Eli will become New MexiCann's Operations Manager and work out of Susan's old office where he can be more in the Patient flow working closely with Jaylene. For those of you who are used to working with her, feel free to ask if she is in and if she has time for a visit. Her door will usually be open - and although she will be processing far fewer orders, she will still be available to chat and visit with her Patient friends whenever she can.

The starting point is Albuquerque on Fridays and is only $10. The closer you live to Albuquerque the sooner you will get delivery. The further away you live your delivery day is more likely to be on Saturday. You will get a phone call 20-30 minutes before the driver arrives in your area and he will let you know where to meet him. If you need more time to get to the meeting point please tell us when you place your order so we can let the driver know to call you with more lead time.
