***SB45 SENATE FINAL ACTION REPORT***
Good News! SB45, Constitutional Carry (concealed carry without a permit) passed the Kansas Senate today, February 26 with a final action vote of 31-7. This bill will now advance to the Kansas House Chamber where a hearing in the House Federal and State Affairs Committee is scheduled for Friday, March 13 at 9:00am in Room 346-S of the Statehouse.
The 31 Senators who voted YES on SB45 are:
Abrams, Arpke, Baumgardner, Bowers, Bruce, Denning, Donovan, Fitzgerald, Haley, Holmes, Kelly, Kerschen, King, Knox, LaTurner, Longbine, Love, Lynn, Masterson, Melcher, O'Donnell, Olson, Ostmeyer, Petersen, Pilcher-Cook, Powell, Pyle, Smith, Tyson, Wagle and Wilborn.
The 7 Senators who voted NO on SB45 are:
Faust-Goudeau, Francisco, Hawk, Hensley, Holland, Pettey and Wolf.
There were 2 Senators who were Present but did not vote on SB45 and those were McGinn and Schmidt. There were no Senators absent.
There were several Senators who gave formal explanations of their vote and asked that those statements be entered into the Journal. You may review the Journal containing those statements here. The Senate is still in session at this moment so the Journal will likely be uploaded to the website either late tonight or tomorrow.
