Greetings!,

I love when fall rolls around with the cooler weather and the changing colors of the trees. In the Studio, we are busy with preparing for Quilters' Quest, our annual shop hop, and coming up with new projects for the busy quilting season.

Fall also means more classes in the Studio. We've added a third Toothbrush Rugs class along with several others I know you'll enjoy. You can find our class schedule (including my trip to Nepal if you'd like to join me) here.

Beautiful textiles and rich colors abound in Nepal.

Thank you so much to the hundreds of you who took our survey regarding our Block of the Month next year. We are keeping the results secret as we make our plans.

We have lots to tell you about in this month's newsletter - kits, products, tips, trips and, of course, the next block for the Block of the Month.

New Banyan Table Runner
The banyan tree was the inspiration for my Banyan Table Runner. This amazing tree, considered sacred in some cultures, sports aerial roots which create an astounding structure extending from the main tree.

The Banyan Table Runner Finishes at 13" x 68"

The "roots" in this table runner are foundation pieced to ensure the accuracy of those striking points. Featuring fabrics from my Malam IV batik collection, kits are available in two colorways.

Our Row by Row Kits Available for All
Thank you so much to all of the visitors who have stopped by during the Row by Row Experience Shop Hop. Even though the shop hop is ending, you still have a chance to get our pattern and row kit, Eagle's Pride. They will be available for purchase starting November 1st and we are now taking preorders.

Staff Gadget Picks for Fall Retreats
Often in the fall we have quilters stopping by the Studio on the way to quilt retreats. My staff, many of them very experienced retreaters, have put together their top five picks for your fall retreats in a "gadget showcase."

Fiskars Self-Healing Rotating Rotary Cutting Mat

This 8" x 8" mat is perfect for tight spaces. It easily fits in your project tote and rotates to help you cut and trim fabric at easier angles.

Portable LED Lights - A Studio top seller!

Lighting is never quite right when you are away from home. With 3 levels of brightness, this great little lamp is bright, energy efficient and long lasting.

C See's Quilt Scrolls

Compact for travel, the Quilt Scroll is perfect for piecing or appliqu on the go. This portable design mat allows fabric to stick to its soft surface and is easily repositioned.

Yazzi Bags

No matter which size you choose, we are astounded by how much you can fit (and later easily find) in these beautifully crafted bags. We have several sizes, all wonderful, but our favorite is the Mini-Craft Organizer (Large) with its eight see-through zippered compartments.

Tiny Travel Tote

We love this durable, collapsible tote, perfect for threads and fabric snippings with six outer pockets that can hold all your essential sewing tools.

Don't Miss the Fun of Our Annual Quilters' Quest

Even though we have been doing this for years, I still get excited about Quilters' Quest.

*    We will once again have fabric designed exclusively for the ten Quest shops.  Embracing the theme, "Salute to Freedom," these two batiks capture the spirit of Independence Day in the nation's capital.

*    Relax and leave the driving to us! Our always popular bus trips--one on the weekend, the other weekday--cover all ten shops. You'll find details here.

*    Visit the Quest website to sign up for their newsletter where you'll find free patterns each month for the Quest Mystery quilt, Potomac Stars. We have kits available for this Quilters' Quest BOM and we won't be giving away any secrets when we tell you we all just love how it turned out!

2016 Block of the Month - Cosmos - Block 11

If you have been keeping up each month, you now have a wonderful collection of blocks and you've learned so much. This month's block features a beautiful star with a simple fussy cut border print center.

Click here to read more tips from Jinny on Cosmos.

If you're just joining the program, there's no need to worry about catching up. In addition to this month's block, the download link below will give you access to all the materials we've shared so far.

[Download link available in subscriber e-mail only]

Cosmos has two main color schemes: blue/teal or red/gold. Each of those is available with a light or a dark background for a total combination of four quilts from which to choose.

Click here for more information on Cosmos kits.

We've also created beautiful fat quarter bundles of the fabrics used in the two Cosmos colorways. If you love the colors in the quilt and would like to use them in a different project, this is the choice for you.

Happy Quilting!
