Greetings!,

I've just finished teaching my two-day Designing Tessellations class here at the Studio with a wonderful group of students from across the country. I love watching their excitement as they create their own designs while making new friendships.

The Studio has been hopping with all the quilters who are participating in the countrywide Row by Row Experience shop hop. It's hard to believe but, in just about a week, we had one participant who completed her quilt which included our row. If you are out and about this summer, whether near or far from home, visit a participating shop to pick up your free row pattern. We even had Row by Row founder, Janet Lutz, and her friend, Debra, who designed the license plates, stop by the Studio while visiting from New York. Go to the event website to
The Row by Row Experience
find participating shops near you.

In talking to many of you, I've discovered that not everyone knows about our Weekly Web Special. Each week a new sale is announced and, if you sign up for the email notifications, you'll be eligible for the bonus offered just to subscribers. To subscribe, click on the newsletter sign-up on our home page and make sure you scroll down and check "Web Site Specials (Weekly)." We offer some great deals that you don't want to miss.

New products and new patterns-we've got lots to tell you about in this newsletter along with this month's block for our Block of the Month, Starstruck.

Bedfordshire Has Finally Arrived!
Imagine old stone abbeys, country houses with lace at the windows with cottage gardens outside and you'll see the inspiration for my latest collection, Bedfordshire.
Bedfordshire Fabric Collection
The collection has 34 fabrics in 4 colorways. With lacy border prints, elegant florals, pale lights and rich darks, I hope you are as excited about it as I am.
Bedfordshire fabrics also look great with the palette. Design your own on our swatch wall.
Check your local quilt shop for the fabrics or visit our website. All of the fabrics are available by the yard or, if you can't decide, get one of each in our fat quarter bundles. View the entire collection here.

The Bedfordshire quilt, with its dynamic pinwheel design, is available in three sizes and three color options. The pattern is a free download.

If you liked the popular Diamond Life Table Runner in its original Malam batiks, I've taken that design and redesigned it using two colorways from Bedfordshire. You can see them both here.

Upcoming Trips
As many of you know, I love the adventure of traveling to exotic locales and areas off the beaten path. I hope you will consider joining me on one of the exciting trips I have coming up in the next year: India, Africa, Italy and Bali. Wow! I'm especially excited about the safari in Kenya. Besides the amazing wildlife, we will get to visit markets with vibrantly colored textiles and tour the world-famous Kazuri Bead Factory. Learn more about this trip and all of my other tours with Sew Many Places here.

Great New Products

*    Apliquick is here with rave reviews! My staff appliqu expert Diane introduced me to it and I have heard praise from customers who love the control they have in creating smooth curves and perfect points. After trying it myself, I have to agree. Apliquick is an innovative new system for those of you who love the look of needle-turned appliqu but struggle with the technique. Manipulating small appliqu pieces is a breeze with these wonderful tools. You can view all of our Apliquick products here.

*    Once you make our Quilter's Sidekick, you'll wonder how you lived without it.  It is lightweight and easy to carry but gives you just what you need to help you piece on the go. It has two pockets to fit a small rotary mat, sandpaper board or pattern and a non-slip Ultrasuede flap for marking your patchwork. Learn more about our Quilter's Sidekick kits here.

Give our New Products a Try

If you receive our Weekly Web Special emails, you have seen that the Quilter's Sidekick kit is on sale this week. I've also designed a simple appliqu pattern to embellish the front and used the new Apliquick tools to prepare my pieces.  See how simple this technique is with step-by-step instructions on our "Tips and Lessons" page. I know once you've tried it you'll be ready to move on to a more advanced pattern like you'll find on our Midnight Garden Tote.
