Greetings!,

I love this time of year, as new buds are coming on the trees, the daffodils blooming and my hellebores are in full color. Their blooms last so long that they make a spectacular display in my garden. I couldn't help but share it with you this month.

Last month, I asked you how you originally learned to quilt.  More than 3000 of you replied and here's how you weighed in: the biggest percentage of you learned either from a family member or friend.  But a close second was learning to quilt by attending classes.

Speaking of quilting classes, this past month, I spent two weeks at several locations in Australia, conducting workshops sponsored by Sue Bennett of Miss Sampson's Drapery. During a multi-day Exploring Diamonds workshop, we took an unscheduled bus trip to Sue's shop to find some additional fabrics.  You can see that we took good care of those bolts on the way back! It was a wonderful trip that included an excellent BBQ dinner prepared by Sue's husband, Malcolm. Next up for me this year is a teaching trip to Sweden!

What's New . . . at jinnybeyer.com
Brand-New Fabric Collection
Just in time for your spring projects, Corsica is now available at jinnybeyer.com and quilt shops around the world.

I've incorporated some lovely pastels into the collection, as well as my signature border stripes, large-scale prints and some really versatile textural designs. There are 31 fabrics in total, and we've got fat quarters and 10" charm packs, as well as running yardage.

Quilt & Bed Runner Kits
Free Patterns, Too!

I designed two projects featuring the Corsica fabrics:  a queen-sized quilt and a bed runner. The bed runner gives you the look of a quilt folded at the foot of your bed -- a great decorative touch without all the work of completing a large quilt.

Both projects are available in two colorways: a warm, earth-tone variation, and a lighter version that we've dubbed hyacinth to capture the blues and purples.

You can find complete details  -- and free pattern downloads -- on our website.

The Best Needle Threader & Fabric Pencil We've Tried
The right tool can make all the difference in your work. Sewline has released two new products that we love.

The Quick-thru Needle Threader looks almost like a lipstick holder, but the case slides back to reveal a clever mechanism for threading your sewing needle (sizes 9 -12). It works smoothly every time.

The case can store your needles, and a magnetic tip makes it easy to pick up any that stray into your sofa or onto the floor!

The Trio Colors Pencil holds 3 different color leads (black, pink and white) so you always have the right color at your fingertips.

Each pencil contains one long-lasting, 0.9mm ceramic lead in each of the three colors. Erase the fine, clear lines with a polymer eraser or with water.

We're offering the two products together at a 10% discount. Regularly $33.90, the needle threader and pencil combo is just $30.50 for a limited time.

Play With Fabric on Our Brand New Swatch Wall
We've made it easier for you to coordinate fabrics at jinnybeyer.com.

You've always been able to add individual fabrics to a Swatch Wall on our website to see how they look together. Now you can also load Swatch Wall Collections that I've designed. Each collection includes a dozen or more fabric that work beautifully together.

Move the swatches around, hide some, delete some, and add your favorites to your shopping basket -- you can do it all from the Swatch Wall! And, as long as you are logged in to the site, your swatch wall be saved for your next visit.

Visit the Swatch Wall on jinnybeyer.com and you'll find several Corsica Swatch Collections to get you started. I encourage you to give it a try and let me know what you think!

SolsticeSolstice Compass Block #3

This month's block can be made traditionally (right) or incorporating Jinny's soft-edge piecing technique (left).

Block #3 in my Solstice quilt gives you another chance to try your hand at soft-edge piecing. The technique is optional, so you can also choose to make the traditional version of the block (lower, right).

If you missed last month's information, don't worry! The download page includes all the materials released so far.

Solstice Quilt Kits in three color options are now shipping.
More info on Solstice Kits.

We've also created beautiful fat quarter bundles of the fabrics used in the three Solstice colorways. If you love the colors in the quilt and would like to use them in a different project, this is the choice for you.
