Storm Update:
Township & Peco Information
Peco Status: As of 8 a.m., 3,617 homes in Haverford Township (out of 19,600 served by Peco) remain without power. Peco estimates that 295,000 homes in the region still do not have electricity, and says that 715,000 customers lost power as a result of the storm.
Please note that Peco does not provide specific information to the Township about where its crews are working. Thus, neither the Township nor I can provide block- or house-specific information.
Click here for Peco's latest storm information, including links to information about the number of outages, etc.
Township Status: The Township continues to remove debris from the storm, provided the area does not involve electrical lines. In addition, debris removal on state roads is handled by Penndot. The Township expects that it may take weeks to remove all of the storm-related debris (particularly in those areas that do not impact traffic). Please be patient.
Haverford YMCA Offers Assistance: The Haverford Area YMCA is offering mobile device charging stations for Haverford Township residents during the State of Emergency. The YMCA can also provide showers upon request. The YMCA requests, however, that residents find alternative modes of transportation to the Y to avoid congestion in its parking lot. This offer is extended only during the Y's normal hours of operation: Monday to Friday 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call the YMCA at (610) 649-0700.
State of Emergency: As reported earlier, the Township has declared a State of Emergency. In addition, President Obama has declared a State of Emergency in Pennsylvania. Doing so allows the Township to take appropriate actions, purchase supplies, etc. during the current conditions and seek reimbursement from state, county and federal agencies.
- If you do not have power, please contact Peco at (800) 841-4141 to report the outage.
- For trees down on roadways, please contact Public Works at (610) 446-1000.
- For other emergencies, contact the Police at 9-1-1.
Please be patient; the Township is dealing with resident issues as quickly as possible under the circumstances.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

A Personal Note: I am out of town, a bit under the weather, and do not expect to have constituent phone access until Sunday. As a result, I ask that you be patient. I am trying to respond to all email and phone calls, but anticipate delays. Also, if you have an emergency, please call either the Police at 9-1-1 or the Township at (610) 446-1000.
