Yesterday afternoon's storm caused considerable damage, particularly in the 4th and 5th Wards. While power has been restored to many areas of the Township, Darby Road remains closed from Radnor Road to Sproul Road because of extensive damage involving many trees and live wires. As many as ten Peco and Aslpundh trucks have been at the scene working to restore power.

While no time has been set for restoration of power, Peco advises the Township that its goal is to restore power today. Because of the extent of the damage (which is most heavy on and near Brennan Drive), the Police continue to keep Darby Road closed but will open it when Peco advises that it is safe to travel.

On June 24th, the operation and maintenance of the Havertown PCP Superfund Site (on Eagle Road) transitioned to Pennsylvania control.  The Township Environmental Advisory Committee has scheduled a public meeting for Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Quatrani Building (Commissioners Meeting Room) at 2325 Darby Road in Havertown so that representatives of both agencies can update residents about the status of the remedial action plan, the efficacy of the plan, and any changes in the program.  Residents are invited to attend the presentation and to ask questions about the site.
