Trash & Recycling Schedules Available
The Township has released the 2013 Trash & Single Stream Recycling calendars. As in the past, the Township will also collect Christmas trees and yard waste on designated Wednesdays. The Monday-Thursday schedule is available in the traditional 2 page format or a one-page color-coded format.

Commissioner Siegel to Discuss Audiobooks On Sunday, January 20th at the Library
Commissioner Siegel and audiobook reader Jeannie Stith will discuss "What Makes a Great Audio Book" on Sunday, January 20th at 2 p.m. at the Haverford Township Free Library at 1601 Darby Road in Havertown. The program will highlight what makes a great audiobook and will call upon the speakers' backgrounds with recorded books.
Ms. Stith is a professional voice-over talent, who has recorded numerous audiobooks in a variety of genres. You may also be familiar with her as the voice of Verizon Wireless's 411 marketing message. For more information about Ms. Stith, click here to visit her website.
Commissioner Siegel is an avid audiobook listener, having "read" more than 2,500 recorded books. He has also been a reviewer for Audiofile Magazine, the only magazine devoted exclusively to audiobooks since 2000; he has authored approximately 500 reviews for the magazine. He also has served as a Judge for the "Audies," the annual awards presented to the best recorded books, since 2005.

Pay It Forward - National Day of Service
Saturday, January 19th
This year, the Martin Luther King Day commemorations will coincide with the Presidential Inauguration, and the President is asking all citizens to join him in participating in a National Day of Service on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Click here for more information about the National Day of Service.
Haverford is supporting the efforts of Patrick Donovan, a young man who is profoundly deaf and has Autism. He has a passion to stop infant hunger. In conjunction with this National Day of Service, donations of infant formula are being collected at his home, 2800 Darby Road, Havertown, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, click here. |
