November 2015
Communiqué
Suzanne Spolarich
AGWM Missionary to France

A month has not yet gone by since I returned to Paris on October 31th. Not even two weeks had elapsed when the November 13th terrorist attacks took the city, the country, indeed the entire world by surprise. Little did I know that when I wrote to you in my first Communiqué from Paris ..."I am excited for the new experiences and opportunities the Lord has planned for me"...that the horizon in France would change so drastically. Yet, I do know that that the Sovereign Lord who called me to this place and this people, knows all things. As our regional director, Tim Southerland encouraged us recently, "The day that God called you to your place of ministry, He knew about this day."..."and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him..." (Acts 17)

While I was back in the USA itinerating, I was blessed to share a meal with colleagues from Trinity Bible College where I studied and taught. I would like to share the thoughts of one of those colleagues. Bob Maddox states in his blog:

"Today is not the time to prevent people from coming to America. In many parts of the world there is little to no access to the Good News. Some will only hear His story by leaving their homes and coming to our shores. There will always be risk involved in fulfilling our divine assignment, wherever it is done. We can only hope the government will reduce the danger by providing an element of security from all enemies domestic and foreign, but there are no guarantees. Safety is only found in Christ. Keep your eyes on Jesus and get busy bringing people to Him, the best solution possible. Advance the church both home and abroad. Be thankful they are coming or pack your bags and go to them. Trust God and tell everyone!
Have a super week and blessed Thanksgiving Day."

Responding in Prayer

On Sunday, November 15th, we at The Bridge International Church decided to have special worship and prayer services. One of our colleagues, Dave Roberts, provided a good resource on how to pray for Paris.

Here is the link to the document so that you, too, can continue in prayer for Paris.

5 Ways to Pray for Paris

Please pass it on to your friends and pastors so that we can continue to be united in prayer that "His Kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

Bringing Hope to Paris

The Church is alive and well in Paris and is bringing hope to the city. Please read this article by my colleague, David Porter, published in Vital Magazine. Here is the link to the article: Bringing Hope to Paris

Still Hope for Europe??!

It seems that Europe is at a crossroads. I am challenged by Jeff Fountain's reflections as he writes a Weekly Word concerning Europe. Jeff is a contributing member of The Schuman Centre for European Studies. Here is a link to his recent Weekly Word Still Hope for Europe??!  I encourage you to read it prayerfully.
