July/August 2014

July was a month of celebrations - remembering 70 years of freedom in France. Celebrations of the end of World War II took place throughout the summer in various locations in France. Here is a link for you to peruse some historic events: Normandy

We missionaries got together for a retreat in July to celebrate all that God is doing. A young couple from The Bridge celebrated their marriage.

August began with our SfC Connect '14 in Germany with students and staff gathering from throughout Europe. The remaining weeks have been spent in preparing and gearing up for "la rentrée" - a French expression meaning "getting back to work and a new school year after vacation."

France Field Retreat at Chateau Saint Albain

France Field Retreat

Missionaries serving in the Paris and Grenoble areas got together for a Retreat from July 8 - 11 at Chateau Saint Albain. Tim and Marketa Southerland, our NorthWest Europe Regional director and his wife, joined us from the Netherlands along with Michelle Chapman who ministered to our children.

It was a long overdue respite and the Lord met with us as we prayed one for another. We got to know one another better, talked shop and also just had fun together.

A Bridge Wedding

What a joy it was to celebrate Nam and Zita's wedding on July 12th! Nam and Zita are part of The Bridge International Church family. It is a delight to see how the Lord is leading them.

SfC Connect '14

Be DIFFERENT, that is, not INdifferent was the theme of SfC Connect this year. Once again we gathered from many nations for a week for of training, prayer, fellowship and fun. SFCEurope is growing as new students join in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ on various campuses.
