Learning to be a Disciple of Jesus has been the focus in all the ministry groups under my supervision during this past winter/spring season. Throughout February and March, three times a week, I received physical therapy for my my left foot and ankle. It was rigorous, regular intensive training. So, I am pleased to tell you that I am walking again and getting stronger every day.

I relate the physical training I have been doing to the regular discipleship training I have been participating in and offering to various groups of people this season. I am reminded that as disciples, we are learning to follow Jesus every day of our lives for a life-time. If we keep on practicing the Word of God, we will be stronger and stronger every day, bearing fruit in our lives for the Kingdom. Often times, our Christian life is compared to walking or running.

The USYP [University Students and Young Professionals] Life Group (like us on Facebook) has been committing the following verse to memory, meditating on it, and endeavoring to put it into practice in our lives on a daily basis:

Our USYP studied the Daniel Plan for the winter 2014 Life Group session. Setting the scene with Daniel, as a foreign student in Babylon far away from home certainly got everyone's attention.

We read the book of Daniel. Then, we concentrated on the five themes: Faith, Food, Fitness, Focus, and Friends outlined in the video study series proposed by Rich Warren.

It was a life-changing experience and now we are challenging one another to persevere in the life-style changes we learned.

Kentucky Chi Alpha Team

April 1-7 was an intense week of ministry with a team of 50 from the Kentucky Assemblies of God District led by Brian Neugent. I was thrilled to take the Chi Alpha group to prayer walk Nanterre University.
 
I am certain that we made a difference in the heavenly realms and I believe God touched the hearts of these young men and women as they walked, observed and prayed for university students.
