e-Communiqué

How good it is to be grateful all the time! I do love Thanksgiving. It is my favorite American holiday because we specifically set aside time to give thanks to God and remember all He is and all He has done for us!

Psalm 92:
1It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to the Most High.
2It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning,
your faithfulness in the evening, ...

Pilgrim for Thanksgiving 2013
Some of us put on Pilgrim hats and others wore Indian headdresses. What a fun event as we gathered together on Saturday, Nov. 30. Everyone participated in adding to the delicious meal.

The children even produced a puppet show of "The First Thanksgiving" for our entertainment.

On Saturday, Nov. 23, our first TEAM Together - Europe Missions core group met with the AGWM Europe Leadership Team. TEAM Together is a new initiative and resource for AGWM Europe missionaries, its objective being to emphasize a biblical theology of singleness through the affirmation of single missionaries in Europe by encouraging biblical relationships between both married and single team members within the Assemblies of God World Missions in Europe.
The basis for TEAM Together began in 2009 and 2010 with meetings I participated in with single and married missionaries of various mission agencies working in Europe. We all desired to encourage better teamwork among single and married missionaries. Suzy Grumelot and Barry Danylak were also part of these initial meetings. I invited them to join us in our core group meeting and address our Europe Leadership Team. Barry has just completed his doctoral work at Cambridge University and authored Redeeming Singleness, How the storyline of Scripture affirms the single life, a biblical theology of singleness.
We are off to a solid start and look forward to offering more opportunities and resources to enrich our missionary team in Europe.

AGWM Europe Leaders Meet in Paris
Prayer walk in Paris
Prayer walking through Paris.

At the beginning of their week of meetings from Nov.18-23, the Europe leaders spent an afternoon and an evening on a guided visit through various areas of Paris. I had the honor of leading them.
The first leg of their trip, on the Metro Line #8 was from Créteil Université to the Bastille, to take in the sights and history and pray. Then, we had lunch.
The second leg was from the Bastille to the Opera, where we spent an hour visiting and praying in yet another area of the city of lights.
The third leg, took us from the Opéra to the famous Eiffel Tower. As night began to fall, we made our way to the Arc de Triomphe and afterwards, we headed to Montmartre to visit Sacre-Cœur and have an evening meal at La Crémaillère, a famous 1900 restaurant. The day ended with a return Metro ride. The entire team really got a feel for the diversity represented in the different areas they visited. For a day, they became Parisians!

Leiden's west gate, the Morspoort.

Nov. 11-13, I was in Leiden, The Netherlands for our first NorthWest Leadership Team Meeting. Tim and Marketa Southerland, our NorthWest Area Directors, were our hosts, greeting us with warm Dutch-style hospitality.

Missionary representatives came from Scotland, Ireland, England, and France, and we got to talk to others by Skype.

After our meetings, we enjoyed having an evening meal together.

I am honored to serve my colleagues in France as part of this team.
