June 2013
e-Communiqué
Suzanne Spolarich Missionary to France
|
|
Greetings!
One day last week I received a piece of chocolate and an encouraging Bible verse from one of the team members at Top Mission. I ate the chocolate. It was delicious. Here is the verse: Proverbs 18:10 - "The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe."
Truly, the Lord is our strong fortress and it is so good to know that we can run to him and find safety. Be encouraged that the Lord is your refuge today and every day. You can always run to him in prayer and in His Word. He never slumbers nor sleeps. Taste and see that the Lord is good. It's better than chocolate! :-)

Every Sunday at The Bridge International Church in Paris is a community event. Above are some glimpses of our service on Sunday, June 2, a communion Sunday. Below are photos from Sunday, June 16. As you can see, it takes a team working together to setup for our activities at the Novotel Hotel in Rueil Malmaison. You can listen to our messages on podcast. Please visit us if you ever come to Paris for business or on a vacation. Here is our website: The Bridge

It was a perfect weekend for a retreat. It was rainy and cold in the tiny village of St. Maulvis in the Picardy Region of France. We were ten in all to participate. Sheila Stoullig's mother graciously provided her summer home and Sheila cooked all of our delicious meals. We ate an authentic Indian curry dish! Our retreat theme was "Making Life Decisions- Finding Our Way with Christ". We worshiped, sang, prayed, laughed, listened to teaching from the Word of God from Sheila, Guy, and Suzanne, rested, slept well in the quiet country where we heard the rooster crow to wake us in the morning. Our times of questions and discussion were enlightening. Most of all, it was a time to draw closer to Jesus and recognize his loving care and guidance available to each one of us at every moment of our lives. Visit our Facebook page.

Ladies Night Out
At The Bridge we ladies like to get together at least once a month for our "Ladies Night Out", actually one of our on-going Life Groups. Here we are pictured above gathering at La Defense. Below left you see us enjoying a great time of food and fellowship. Below to the right is the Greek Feta Cheese Salad I had - delicious. After our meal, we went to see the movie, The Great Gatsby. I always enjoy this time to get to know my sisters better. It's a wonderful time of fun and friendship.

A Luncheon with a Special Friend
Maria Isabel was a student when I first met her in 1996. Actually, she is still a student working on a doctorate in Art History while she teaches Spanish here in Paris, France. I first met her via missionary colleagues in Colombia. They introduced her to me via email just after I had first arrived in France. She had a call on her life to come to France. Two students in our group in Chambéry, where I was at the time, wrote her a letter in Spanish. Maria still has that letter today. I got to meet Maria when I moved up to Paris in 2001 and from time to time we get together. I helped her move into her new apartment not long ago. Recently, she prepared a delicious Colombian meal to share with some of her friends. Please pray for Maria as she pursues her doctorate, teaches, and continues to serve the Lord with her musical and artistic talents.

Prayer Corner
Please pray for SFC Connect '13. We'll be traveling from Paris to near Cologne, Germany on Wednesday 24 July. Pray for the students and staff. May the Lord's presence prevail and all of us be revived.
Pray for Jesus.net. Recently, the Knowing God websites recorded going over 6 million clicks on the button 'I prayed this prayer'. Pray for all those who work behind the scenes as the support team members. |
|
I am grateful for your ever faithful support through your prayers and your giving. Together we are reaching the lost in France and making disciples for Jesus. Thank you.
Warmly in Christ,
|
