Open Doors at The Bridge International Church | | |
In preparation for an annual event we call "Open Doors" at the Bridge on Sunday, September 18th, the team gave invitations to people returning to Paris or arriving in the city for the first time. We went to various metro stations to distribute invitations to people going to work.
The photos above show team members giving out balloons and invitations on a Saturday at a park.
"Open Doors" was a great success as we received many first time visitors, introducing them to who we are at The Bridge.
Coffee time is always a hit, after the Sunday service.

Q-Sunday and Fall Preaching Series
At least once during every season, we have a Q-Sunday. People can send in their questions regarding the Bible and the Christian life. The responses are prepared and presented to the congregation at a Sunday service. Here are Dave Roberts and Jason Brown responding at our last Q-Sunday on September 9th.

Our Fall preaching series, entitled "Surviving the Seven Deadly Sins" gave the congregation a lot of personal and practical challenges. Every message is recorded for our podcasts, so you, too, can listen and learn. Here is the link: Podcasts

Lights Up Ministry

It was an honor for me to receive Brent Grosvenor in Paris from September 11-14. Brent and I attended Trinity Bible College from 1988 to 1990. Brent came to Paris to meet ministry colleagues in theater and the arts. Here is a link to his website so you can see what God is doing through his ministry: Lights Up
The photo above shows a luncheon meeting we had at Le Pave d'Orsay, one of the projects of a community of artists in Paris called La Fonderie.
Here I am with Brent at another luncheon meeting just after his arrival in Paris.

Special Prayer and Worship Event
| |
We had our first Saturday night, Encounter on September 29th. It was an evening dedicated to worship and prayer. We began with a time of collective worship in song, then at different stations around the room, participants were invited to express their worship to God through meditation, drawing or painting, written expression, and an expression of pardon. We completed the evening with a time of prayer for Paris, France, and Europe. Everyone agreed that it was an event to renew.
Skype Life Group Our Fall Life Groups began the week of September 24th. An innovation is our Skype Life Group meeting to study the foundations of the Christian faith. |
