KWMR PSA SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

KWMR airs public service announcements for non-profit organizations, or for events that benefit non-profit organizations.

The non-profit status needs to be clearly indicated.

Please limit your PSA to 50-60 words, with Who/What/When/Where, plus contact (telephone, email, or website) for further information.

Email your submission to [email protected]

Please put "PSA" in the Subject line.

Donate your vehicle:
KWMR contracts with Center for Car Donations to help facilitate donations from donated vehicles. You can donate your car, truck, boat, motorcycle or camper. It's easy and helps keep revenue coming in that supports KWMR's mission.
You call them:
1-888-596-7288 to make the arrangements.
(Contrary to popular belief, we do not maintain a lot of used cars down here at the station.)

We want your feedback. What do you like? What makes you turn off KWMR? As your community radio station, we want to hear what you think! We know you have lots of listening options.

You can email either call or email Amanda Eichstaedt, Station Manager at [email protected] (415) 663-8068, extension 104 or Lyons Filmer, Program Director at [email protected] (415) 663-8068, ext 101

September 2, 2014
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at KWMR for all their hard work. Here's the line-up that keeps things going over here at the station. Not one of us works full-time and several of us juggle multiple careers.

Programming:
Underwriting Coordinator Mia Johnson and Program Director Lyons Filmer
Program Director Lyons Filmer. You have heard her voice on the airwaves either hosting "Epicenter", "Turning Pages" or "The Celtic Universe". Lyons wrangles the 90 or so programmers and works with the Programming Committee to figure out the logistics of the KWMR schedule. Lyons coordinates the Youth DJ Project as well as helps point interns in the right direction.

Katie Eberle of KWMR seen here with host of Local Organon Charles Schultz
Katie Eberle joined the programming team this year and is helping with Public and Cultural Affairs programming as well as hosting "Epicenter" and "The Friday Guide" as well as one super cool music program under her alias. Katie also helps interns cut their chops on audio editing for airplay.

Office Administration and Fundraising:
Marc Matheson (R) seen here with Laura Sherman and

"Da Mayor of Lagunitas"

Marc Matheson
is the fundamental person behind the KWMR database as well as the Calendar Club (KWMR's monthly subscription membership program). Marc's eclectic career background makes him well suited for the many different tasks that come his way at KWMR. Marc is also a volunteer programmer and hosts "Saturday Night Function", "The Place We Live" and "Sunday Celebration of World/Gospel Music."

Mia Johnson and friend, and hey, isn't that Ian McMurray in the background? Yep.
Mia Johnson
is the KWMR Underwriting and Sponsorship maven. She loves a challenge and is one organized cookie. Mia came in as an intern and is now a key player at KWMR. Mia does some engineering for Turning Pages for Children of All Ages and hosts a few music programs per year, especially her "Valentine's Day Special."

Engineering:
 Award Richard Dillman
Richard Dillman, seen here with one of his many awards.
Engineering at KWMR is crucial to the behind the scenes things that happen ALL THE TIME. Richard Dillman is obsessed with all things transmitting. If it sends a signal to YOU, he wants to know about it and make sure it is working. Richard frequently visits our three sites where the signals go out - Mt. Vision, Bolinas and Mt. Barnabe as well as keeps a close eye on what is being sent via the airwaves to these transmission sites. Richard also designed and maintains both the KWMR Emergency Operations Center as well as the KWMR/West Marin Disaster Council Comm Van. You can hear Richard on the airwaves at select times with his "Incredible Radio Tales." Richard is also an expert on the KWMR telephone system.

Information Technology, KWMR's
Ian McMurray (left) seen with programmers Ellen Shehadeh and Paul Flowerman (Paul is also on the KWMR Board of Directors)
computer system and office equipment as well as the Internet are all under the purview of
Ian McMurray. If the radio is playing and nobody is on the air live - Ian has had a hand it that broadcast. A close personal friend to Professor Kozmo, Ian makes sure that things get put into the right place...and stay there - not as easy as it might sound. Ian occasionally hosts a show or two with his sidekick Dusty. He makes a mean guacamole and is the lead singer and plays guitar in the band The Detroit Disciples. Ian also has a hand in neighboring non-profit, West Marin Senior Services IT functions.

Amanda E Executive Director:
Then there is all the other stuff that needs to get done. Budgets, working directly with the KWMR Board of Directors (more on them later) and supervising this amazing group of co-workers. It is a pleasure to serve as a steward with my cohorts to keep KWMR alive and well. There are a few other folks that keep plates spinning at KWMR. Kaaren Gann is the trusty Bookkeeper and Gregory DeMascio is ever-present and is keenly interested in making sure the broadcast studio is in good shape. Gregory also helps with training new programmers.

And volunteers who answer the phones, help out at events and with mailings. and help manage the music library. If you would like to get involved with this fun, hard-working bunch, let us know. We have any number of interesting things that you can do to engage with your local radio station!
