KWMR PSA SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

KWMR airs public service announcements for non-profit organizations, or for events that benefit non-profit organizations.

The non-profit status needs to be clearly indicated.

Please limit your PSA to 50-60 words, with Who/What/When/Where, plus contact (telephone, email, or website) for further information.

Email your submission to [email protected]

Please put "PSA" in the Subject line.

Donate your vehicle:
KWMR contracts with Center for Car Donations to help facilitate donations from donated vehicles. You can donate your car, truck, boat, motorcycle or camper. It's easy and helps keep revenue coming in that supports KWMR's mission.
You call them:
1-888-596-7288 to make the arrangements.
(Contrary to popular belief, we do not maintain a lot of used cars down here at the station.)

We want your feedback. What do you like? What makes you turn off KWMR? As your community radio station, we want to hear what you think! We know you have lots of listening options.

You can email either call or email Amanda Eichstaedt, Station Manager at [email protected] (415) 663-8068, extension 104 or Lyons Filmer, Program Director at [email protected] (415) 663-8068, ext 101

As always, thank you for listening and caring about West Marin Community Radio!

July 22 2014

"Epicenter: West Marin Issues" has been a weekly public affiars program covering local topics since 2001. Starting next Monday, August 4, "Epicenter" will be on the air four days a week: Monday through Thursday from 5-5:30 PM, just ahead of news program "As It Happens."

This is exciting! KWMR has been trying to find a way to bring back more news and public affairs to the airwaves. The stars have aligned. On July 1, 2014 staff hours were shifted around at KWMR to both save funds and capitalize on ways to improve programming. I (Amanda Eichstaedt) have stepped down from 40 (or more) hours per week to 32 hours per week. Lyons Filmer, Program Director, works 32 hours a week and has done so for the past year. Also on July 1st Katie Eberle took on the 30-hour per week position as Community Affairs & Information Coordinator.

It has been a goal of mine to see more resources dedicated to programming at KWMR. Lyons, Katie and I meet weekly to discuss the plan for "Epicenter" and the new "Friday Guide" (8-10 AM) where highlights from earlier "Epicenter" shows will be broadcast along with new information and, a local calendar listing and editorial contributions from both the Point Reyes Light and the West Marin Citizen.

Lyons and Katie will be the primary hosts of Epicenter and other programmers and community members will co-host some episodes, bringin on-air their areas of expertise and varied perspectives. Herb Kutchins, volunteer host and KWMR Political Correspondent, will continue his monthly "Politics 101" in the new "Epicenter."

Tell us what you think once we get rolling! We would love your feedback. Speaking of feedback - now that we broadcast "As It Happens" on the same day that it is produced (5:30-6:30 PM) do you still enjoy the rebroadcast the following morning from 7-8 AM? Should we keep it? Should we drop it? We want to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for listening and for all your support!

The Missing Pig
Pig Redux!
Actual pig!

Hopefully you are still humming the Peaches and Herb tune "Reunited" from last Round Up - the heart-warming tale of the wayward swine on the trail to Shell Beach. KWMR apologizes for using an image of a pig (a de"pig"tion") that was not the "actual pig."

Thanks to Ellen and Howard Deixler we now have a photo of the "real sow."

We don't want to hog all the press on this and thankfully it was also in the sheriff calls and expressed by The West Marin Feed on Facebook.
