KWMR contracts with Center for Car Donations to help facilitate donations from donated vehicles. You can donate your car, truck, boat, motorcycle or camper. It's easy and helps keep revenue coming in that supports KWMR's mission.
You call them:
1-888-596-7288 to make the arrangements.
(Contrary to popular belief, we do not maintain a lot of used cars down here at the station.)

We want your feedback. What do you like? What makes you turn off KWMR? As your community radio station, we want to hear what you think! We know you have lots of listening options.

You can email either call or email Amanda Eichstaedt, Station Manager at [email protected] (415) 663-8068, extension 104 or Lyons Filmer, Program Director at [email protected] (415) 663-8068, ext 101

April 29, 2014
This spring 2014 has been a whirlwind of activity at KWMR. Sweethearts of the Radio in February and in March the North Bay Songwriter Showcase at Lagunitas Brew Sanctuary in Petaluma. April was crazy with the White Hot Burn Pledge Drive, Eat My Heart Out Supper Club and then the 15th Anniversary celebration at Toby's with the prom (photos below).

We appreciate everyone who came out, donated, volunteered and generally gives a hoot about local community radio.

We get a little breather here as we prepare for the 4th annual KWMR Golf Tournament - The Daggie on Friday, June 20 at the San Geronimo Valley Golf Course. KWMR is a media sponsor for two music events this summer. On Saturday, July 19 it's the Family Music Hour VI in the San Geronimo Valley  and the Far West Fest is at Love Field on Saturday, July 26.

Never a dull moment!

Thank you for your continued support.

Youth DJ Feature

Got Your Back by Devon McMorrow

Music is my life. I listen to music constantly. From when I wake up to when I go to sleep, I'll always have a song playing, even if it's only in my head.

Music is magical.  The rights song can change a mood. I can go from sad to happy, happy to sad with the turn of the dial.

Sometimes I reach for a particular album because I have a line from a song playing mentally. Sometimes I simply feel like hearing a certain song.

When I'm sad, I often listen to mellow music like Sinatra's "It Was A Very Good Year" or Coldplay's "Fix You." Other times, I'll listen to music to bring me up, like Alt-J's "Breezeblocks."

When I'm happy, I listen to music because it intensifies the good mood I'm already in.

Basically, what I'm saying is that music is there for me. Music has got my back.

  • "Well I'm back in black. Yes I'm back in black. " AC/DC
  • "Back in the U.S. Back in the U.S. Back in the U.S.S.R." The Beatles
  • "If you kiss me then I'll kiss you back." Digital Underground
  • "I can read it like the back of my hand." The Rolling Stones
  • "You know. Yeah you got my back against the wall." Cage the Elephant
  • "You can bet your life I did, till I got back to the U.S.A." Chuck Berry
  • "Well I won't back down, no I won't back down. You can stand me up at the gates of hell. But I won't back down." Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
  • "I'm back in the saddle again." Aerosmith
  • "Then he walks right past and I know that I've got to get back in the line." The Kinks

You can catch Devon on alternate Wednesday's at 4 pm. In fact she is on THIS week (5/7) with the Retro Rock Hour.

KWMR Turns 15!

A man gave me a box and said,

"Buy this transmitter, be a pirate,

The world will listen and admire it."

I toyed with such clandestine thoughts

But knew I would incur some wrath.

The best way for pirates to gain immunity

Is to be a part of the local community.

I conferred with a friend of similar mind

Who said, in a voice both Stark and clear,

"Let's see what it takes and give it a go,

This West Marin Coastal Radio."

We wanted to give our neighbors a way

To air their opinions and listen, as well,

To all their other neighbors' views

And music and issues and breaking news,

What started out as a mike in a barn

Has turned into something beyond my dreams.

Through all these years of work, pain and pleasure

You've made this station a national treasure!

I love you all for making this happen.

I thank all the programmers doing their part

To make this all work. Now all we desire

Are members and donors to fuel the fire.

My thanks to the thankless volunteers,

Whose frazzled nerves and overworked brains

Have made a dream become alive ---

KWMR, FM 90.5!
