Message from your NCISS President
I am honored to serve as your President over the next year - thank you for your confidence, and most important, your membership and support of NCISS!
What is the importance of your National Council of Investigation & Security Services?
Like most tools we use in our personal and professional lives, we often forget those that we do not use daily or on a regular basis. NCISS is one of those tools. When it is quiet, as it most often seems, it is often forgotten - most accurately not remembered - the important role NCISS does have.
It may seem quiet, but if you read any of the monthly legislative updates, it is easy to see it is not. In the background our volunteers on the Board and Legislative Committee daily communicate with our lobbyist in Washington DC to monitor and act on pending regulations and bills. Often times so effective that issues are resolved without much disturbance. At other times a Call to Action is sent out to members to utilize the system at the Legislative Advocacy Hub. This is you - Your Voice of the Investigative and Security Professionals at work. There is not 100% success, but for 40 years there have been important successes. NCISS continues to be the "geofence" of our professions. When it is quiet, be assured there have been successes.
NCISS is like an insurance program - keeping you aware of issues that may positively or negatively impact your work product from beginning to end, and working for you on these important issues.
Together we all support our legislative fund to act when the need arises. It is more than each of us individually - Together We're Better. Insurance is cheaper because it is a pool of protection for each person. NCISS is a pool of protection for the investigative and security professions - and you the individual member. There are many projects the team of Vice Presidents and your Board are working on diligently to further the mission of NCISS. Being an active member locally or on our board is a personal and professional fulfilling experience.Thank you again for the confidence you have in my leadership, and the leadership of your Board, as we all work together to continue moving NCISS forward for our investigative and security professions. Honored to serve you, Dean A. Beers, CLI, CCDI

Legislative Advocacy Hub
NCISS continues to show leadership and it's commitment to State Association outreach with the release of the new Legislative Advocacy Hub (LAH). The LAH is a wonderful tool for State Associations to monitor legislation effecting their state. The LAH not only identifies certain pieces of legislation, it can be helpful with call to action letters from your members to your Congressional and House Representatives.
The AH will continue to add more features as we learn more about the issues that have an impact on your business. The AH link can be found our website, via this short link http://goo.gl/QSCcgc

Coming Soon - NCISS Social Media Presence!

A social media presence can have benefits to NCISS and our members. With the help of 2nd Vice President Brad Duffy, and the marketing department of Per Mar Security, we are finalizing the social media presence of NCISS. The social media presence will include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. These platforms will have announcements, history, photos and other information important to our members and others in the investigative and security professions. Be sure and 'Like' 'Follow' 'Join' and 'Subscribe to' these new NCISS platforms with your personal and business platforms. The NCISS administrators will reciprocate. Not only will this be another method of keeping members informed, it will also be another form of networking for members. A special thanks to Jennifer Hinchman, Director of Marketing Per Mar Security Services for getting us up and running! Look for a special announcement soon with the URLs for each of the new social media platforms!

NCISS PAC
The NCISS PAC committee is pleased to announce Mike Duffy (Past President) and Brad Duffy (2nd Vice President) have raised $5700 for the PAC. In addition, they were able to present a PAC donation to the campaign for Sen. Chuck Grassley (IA), who was the luncheon keynote speaker at the most recent Hit the Hill, held inside the US Capitol at the Senate Visitors Center. It is important to recognize this generosity in raising these PAC funds and placing NCISS in front of key candidates and legislation with these donations. These communications and relationships with key legislators is important.
For questions about the NCISS PAC and donations, please contact any any board member.
ASSOCIATON CONFERENCESTerry Myer, 1st Vice President
As chairman of the membership committee, it is my honor to travel around to state associations and meet new friends and install them as a member of NCISS. I just left FALI to be with Tim O`Rourke and his last rodeo as president of FALI. The last two years we set a record signing up new members at FALI, CALI and TALI - and other association conferences.
We did great at FALI. Several NCISS members, including current board members, will next be at CALI and then the TALI / World Investigators Conference and are looking forward to meeting current members and sharing the importance of NCISS to new members. Please visit our booths and meet the members, bring a friend to join NCISS and be entered into a drawing for each new member you bring.
