Paul was part of a team of missionaries spreading The Gospel. Along the way he identified and equipped others as disciples. Paul writes to his trusted young companion and assistant Timothy to look after and nurture the church in Ephesus until his return. At the time, the Ephesians are subject to false teachings by those professing pagan traditions (rejecting certain food, materials and even marriage), all of which Paul argues were created by God to be received with thanksgiving.
