In the beginning of Paul's letter to the Romans, he has been writing to the Gentiles, but now he is addressing the Jews. He attempts to reorient them with the idea that God's righteousness through Jesus Christ makes obsolete the righteousness bestowed by The Law. His next point of emphasis remains a central tenet of the Christian faith today - that all who confess Jesus as Lord, and confirm his death and resurrection, are saved. Additionally, and equally significant, is that this redemption is for all, Jew and Gentile alike.
