In this text, Paul presents logical arguments that God's promises made to Abraham are fulfilled in the person of Jesus and are made to all who believe in Him. Paul notes that God's promises were made first and through a covenant agreement. The law, given many years later, does not change what was previously established. Rather than having any saving power, the law simply serves to make us aware of our sin and our need for a savior.
