THIS SUNDAY! Convocation prayer at worship on Sep 6th with the Congregation Council for all of us as we begin our studies. All confirmands -- especially the 6th grade class -- should try to be at that worship service. The Congregation Council will present a Lutheran Study Bible to each incoming 6th grade confirmation student. After the Apostles' Creed, we will invite the council to come to the chancel, and the confirmands with faculty to kneel at the rail for prayers and presentation. All will then stand-in place for Parish Prayers.
This year's class includes:
6th Grade: Savannah Anderson, Megan Miller, Maggie Hamlin, Michael Stalker, and Ben Crawshaw
7th Grade: Bryce Arp and Spike Roberts
8th Grade: Ben Scheel, Laura Scarbeck, Katie Scarbeck, and Eric Carlson
This year's schedule and curriculum are posted to the Resources webpage. Our 8th grade class will affirm their baptism on Pentecost which is Sunday 15 May 2016.
Our first large group session will be on Sunday Sep 13th at 9:45 AM in the Sanctuary. Sunday Sep 20th we will again meet at 9:45 AM in the Sanctuary. After that, we'll settle into our normal routine of meeting in the conference room for the first 15 minutes on Luther's Small Catechism followed by 30 minutes of small group time. In small group, 6th grade studies the Old Testament, 7th grade studies the Gospels, and 8th grade studies the Acts of the Apostles through Revelation.
