Good day to my RLC family,
Welcome to the first week of RLC's transition period. In this section of the weekly newsletter, we will be sharing information about upcoming events and other planning items that we all need to be aware of.
We will be holding the usual informal information brief this Sunday, in preparation for the Congregational meeting in July. It will come after the 10:00 service.
As we're working out the kinks in our new RLC processes, there will certainly be bumps. We have tried to anticipate as many issues as we can. We've given our wonderful office staff as much guidance as we can think of, but there will almost certainly be those curveballs that we should have seen coming but didn't. When unexpected things happen, Lisa and Donna will reach out to someone in the church's leadership and address the issue as quickly as possible.
As far as pastoral leadership, Tom Bailey and Ken Martin are serving as our Vice Pastors. Tom will be the primary, with Ken filling in the absences. We have already started working with the Bishop to identify our Interim Pastor, but she or he will likely not start until August. Watch this space for updates, if you haven't heard the announcement elsewhere. For the meantime, here is a list of our supply pastors for the next few Sundays:
June 28 - Ken Martin
July 5 - Phil Hirsch
July 12 - Tom Bailey
July 19 - Lyla Harold
July 26 - Ken Martin
August 2 - Lyla Harold
There are lots of moving parts right now, as we are starting to walk through this transition plan we've put together. There's a lot of work ahead of us as a Congregation: identifying who we are as God's People and discerning what He's calling us to do during our next phase. We will tackle these tasks one bite at a time and, with God's Guidance, we will continue to do God's Work, with Our Hands.
In Christ,
Chris Campbell, for the Council.
