Resurrection Lutheran Church

This Sunday, October 5, we have a special guest at the 8:45 Adult Forum. Sister Munira Salim-Mohamed Abdalla is presently doing a residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born in Kenya and came to the United States in 1988. Though raised a Muslim, she attended both Catholic and Seventh Day Adventist Schools in her home country. She served as Refugee Coordinator for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington for 3 years and is the Founder and Executive Director of the Imani Multicultural Center. Her presentation is entitled "We Are All God's Children".

When we had lunch with Sister Munira on Tuesday, we talked about some of the possible questions that might come from our adult forum folks. Here are a few of the topics discussed:

*Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God?

*How do Muslims regard Jesus?

*Do Muslims approve of what the terrorists are doing around the world?

*Is President Obama a part of a long-planned conspiracy of the Muslims to take over the world?

* What do Muslims think of the United States?

*What place do women have in the religion of Islam?

Please come and join our conversation this Sunday in the Fellowship Hall. We will extend hospitality to Sister Munira and any guests who come, and we will certainly expect lively discussion and learning on a most timely topic.

In Christ's love,

Pastors Jim and Carol
