ILPs have begun! Be sure to sign up to meet with your learner's guide to set goals for this year.
Lancaster and SCVi ILPs: If you have not signed up for an ILP appointment already, please do so. ILPs are a fundamental part of our school's culture. It is important to note that ILP conferences are not traditional parent/teacher conferences. The purposes of the ILP conferences are to establish learning and social/emotional goals. Remember to bring your WOOP Goals with you to your meeting.
PSAT Coming Soon!
SCVi is hosting the administration of the PSAT on October 15. The PSAT is the Preliminary SAT, a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in the United States. It is usually recommended for 10th and 11th graders before taking the SAT.
Why take the PSAT?
You receive feedback on your strengths and weaknesses on skills necessary for college study. You can then focus your preparation on the identified areas from additional study or practice.
You can measure and compare your admissions test performance with that of others. It also helps learners become familiar with the types of questions and directions they will be exposed to on the SAT.
PSAT Fee and how do I pay?
The fee for the PSAT is $20. Click hereand print out the document. Bring both form and fee to Carron in the administration office of the Upper school. Please don't let finances prohibit your learner from participating in the PSAT exam. Fee waivers are available for income-qualified 11th graders as well as additional funding through SCVi.
The PSAT will be administered Saturday, October 15
Time: 8:30 am
Location: Shakespeare Theatre
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kris Nilsen, Academic/College Advisor, kris.nilsen@scvi-k12.org.
They can also review and take a practice exam on the Collegeboard website.
