Dear parents,
We had an incredible first week of school. We give many thanks to our staff, learners, and families. We appreciate the great partnership we have developed and welcome all our new families to iLEAD.
Please follow us, like and post pics and tweets and share with us your adventure at iLEAD Encino.
We also wanted to inform you all that we are being proactive regarding that horrible word LICE. We will have lice professionals at the studios next week to check our learning spaces and all our learners. If you don't want your child checked please email Ms. Kaufman directly.

ELECTIVES and PE
Learners at PLS (grades TK-3) will have enrichment provided by their facilitators and care team on a daily basis and PE with Coach Mac every Friday.
For learners at ILS we give them voice and choice! Please have your learner use the links below to sign up for an elective. Electives do not begin until September 6th. If a class is full please email Mrs. Kaufman to be placed on a wait list
- Grades 4-8 Electives for Learners with workshops on Monday/Wednesday. Sign up

For PE Coach Mac will be meeting with all learners during week 1 to talk about the program he will be offering on their personal learning days. Sign up for them will be available by end of week in advisory. For learners choosing to log their own PE, PE logs will be available in the main office and at Back to School Night events.

In order to help families in need of carpool we have set up a Google form for families interested in carpooling to register. Families also have been given access to view the spreadsheet where all the data is collected. Please contact families in your area to establish carpools. Use the links below to access the Google form and spreadsheet.

If you are in need of after care please be sure to sign up with Enrichment Planet. We do not provide after-school supervision once valet is done.

We are thrilled to have Chef Jackie back for another year. This year she has expanded her lunch delivery program to Monday-Thursday and will deliver to both Learning Studios! Please pick up your lunch order form at the office.

 This year we will have several clubs and teams that meet on Fridays at ILS. These include, Speech and Debate, Yearbook, Math Team, Science Team, Student Government, Musical Theatre/Key club, Dungeons and Dragons Club.
Sign up links for these clubs and teams will go out in next week's Monday Message. All learners are welcome to participate in any clubs or teams available for their grade level.
Please note that the competitive teams (Math, Science and Speech and Debate) can involve a cost to participants for competitions. Speech and Debate also requires a tryout since space on this team is very limited and highly competitive.

To sign your learner up for the year of Field Studies package, please print the form below that correlates to your Learner's grade. Fill it out and return it with payment to the front office, at either PLS or ILS, by September 1! Please make checks out to iLEAD.
There will be an option to purchase the Field Study trips on a one-by-one basis after pre-sales have ended.

7th & 8th grade PALI Camp returns!
 Our 7th and 8th Grade will be traveling together to PALI CAMP! The 3-day/2-night overnight trip is scheduled Oct 3-5, 2016. The overnight Field Study trip incorporates the seventh and eighth grade standards into an exciting, adventure packed journey!
Pali Institute offers a customized program to suit our school's requirements, providing around-the-clock supervision and instruction, allowing teachers to relax, observe and engage with their students in educational activities.
What makes the Pali Institute experience unique is the ability for our school to choose classes that best fit our learners' current curriculum. Through our intensively developed program and qualified Outdoor Education staff, your child will gain independence, learn about the world around them and have a fun and memorable camp experience.
Print the form below, fill out, and return to the front office by Sept. 15, as the final count is due the next day. I am unable to adjust numbers after the 15th of September.

8th Grade Washington, D.C., Trip!

Parents of 8th Graders, please come to Back to School Night on Sept. 8!
We will have a representative from Brightsparks Educational Tour company here to talk to you about the fantastic opportunity to go to Washington, D.C., in May! Eighth grade families will gather in Mr. Barker & Ms. Corina's room at 8:15 p.m.
The trip is scheduled May 23-29, 2017.

New Year, New Focus
Dear iLEAD Encino Families,
Welcome to the new school year! I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself and Scarlet Foundation and describe its role in iLEAD Encino.
Scarlet Foundation was established by parents to support iLEAD Encino. Our mission is to ensure that all of our learners have the best educational experience possible. We work toward that goal by partnering with the administrators, facilitators and families of iLEAD Encino to develop and support programs, events, and community-building activities that go above and beyond the school's traditional resources. Our ability to help improve our school depend on you and your participation in our activities and fundraisers such as our upcoming Annual Giving campaign.
You can read more about Scarlet Foundation on our website, scarletparents.org, and you will find weekly updates from us in the Monday Message. The Scarlet Foundation Board and I welcome your questions and thoughts about how we can best support iLEAD. You can see who we are and reach us through the website or any time you see us on campus.
